    I need a large enamel pot…

I started with an enameled pan I picked up at the Dollar General. No, it wasn't a dollar but $8. I still have it and use it occasionally but SS is the best. For something like that I've found that walk-in restaurant supply stores of the best.

    Vetiver EO

Vet and orange or lavender is nice. Either gives a kinda exotic scent.

Using floral waxes to add fragrance?

When I use jasmine wax in soap I actually use only ½ oz per pound. The scent does come through and since I can't stand it I do not use it alone but use an EO for a blend. All waxes are not in the same strength, though, so you will have to experiment to get it where you want it.

Can you recommend a multi-bar wire cutter?

Chestnut Farms has one thats a bit less expensive. I can't tell you anything about it as I have never used it but they are one of the first to ever offer one. At one time, they actually had the plans for both the mold and cutter online!

    does anyone know if

You can infuse your oils with tumeric for a yellow-orange that will stick around a bit longer.

    Water discounts

I have to agree with the others - water discount isn't a definate term in soapmaking. Can you rephrase the question?

    DOS factors

I find that if I mix olive and soy oils, my soaps always get it! ( I love Soap Naturally's site!)

re home businesses in residential area

rube, I wouldn't fret. In most places, it becomes a problem if you have physical traffic in and out to buy your product. That's when the neighbors begin to complain. If you are making soap in-home and selling at shows and such, I bet it's not worth the worry. NOw if you get a million dollar...

Citrusy EOs... how much to use?

I do not use orris root but make sure I have castor oil in my recipe. You can also add a bit of litsea to help hold them. Also if you are doing CP & bring your soaps to gel, make sure that you cover your mold until cool.

    Soap Dishes

Dix, my bars are 5-5.5oz so I would give a dish for every 3 bars IF the dish could be made inexpensively. If my bars were 3.5-4oz, I'd go with every 4.

    HORRRRRIBLY RUDE

Wow! I do know that I wouldn't knowingly give this guy my business after having heard this! Maybe he did have a bad day but he'd better learn quickly that you do not take it out on your buyers! It will cost him his business!
