    Yummy Coconut

Been soap making for about 8 years, so I'm experienced enough to know it's virtually impossible to find a good coconut fragrance. I like the Coconut Milk from Peak, but I'm hoping to get some advice from fellow soapers on what coconut fo they like. I want a coconut that smells like yummy sweet...

    One more with embeds...;-)

Okay so I like playing with embeds a little...but really most of my soaps don't have them. This was one of the Christmas scents that I've actually used for the past few years...and LOVE it! (it's bayberry)

    Mmm Watermelon

Had to share this one because it's not all too often that a soap turns out just like you planned...LOL! But this one pretty much did, I was pleased with it. I layered the two colors on the bottom, then I staggered rods of black soap throughout the remainder of the batch. I used rods so that...

A fun look for a fun scent!

I haven't shared any pictures in a very long time, so I thought I'd try to share a few of some that I've been working on lately. I call this one Fun & Fruity. I use fruity rings from NG and it really smells awesome!

    Where'd the pineapple go...

from my pineapple cilantro soap? Has anybody used ss pineapple cilantro? Is the nice fragrance coming back? Crossing my fingers crossed on this one, because cilantro on it's own is not a very pleasant scent. (at least this one's not!) Oops! probably should've put this one in fo...

    Where's Burt??????

Has anybody ordered from burts heaven scents recently? There's only a couple fragrances that I get from them, but when I went to reorder some supplies they seem to have vanished. :?

    Tax question

I've just done my taxes, and things didn't turn out like I expected...so I thought I'd see if anyone here with more experience or business sense could enlighten me a little or point me in the right direction of where I can get more information. I was surprised that my soap sales hurt my return...

    VERY STRANGE PHENOMENON--REPEAT

About 4 months ago I made my first pink grapefruit soap. I used pink flamingo mica and a blend of pink grapefruit & summer sorbet fo, and the stangest thing happened, as I cut it I noticed the center was pale yellow but turned darker over a matter of minutes. I didn't know if it was the mica or...

    A VERY STRANGE PHENOMENON!!!

Let me just say this is a first for me, now I've only been making soap for a couple years, but I've made bookoos of soap in that time and I've never had any do this yet. I used my regular recipe with lard, oo, po, co and castor I scented it with ss's summer sorbet and grapefruit (blend) which...

    My first Bebe :)

Yep, it's my first soap stamp ever, and I'm so tickled with it. It's the wishing tree, and I think my next one will probably be another tree, but maybe one that the brances are not as close. But there are sooooo many beautiful designs to pick from it makes it incredibly hard to choose. :)

    The key to nice swirls

has definetly got to be working at a thin trace :) (you'd think I'd already know that) LOL!! Here's another new scent for me, "blackberry sage" smells super nice!!

OMG I only wish I'd tried it sooner!

I've had a bottle of Australian Bamboo Grass that I got from ss months ago, but I've been saving it for spring since it seemed to have a fresh "green" scent. So I finally soaped with it, and it smells HEAVENLY! It's one of those fragrances that sort of "evolve" when you soap with it. I...

    An old favorite

Ok so it doesn't smell as yummy as some of my soaps, due to the blend of eo's used in it; orange, eucalyptus, citronella and tea tree. But I love a hand soap with scrubbies in it, and I love that this one's 100% all natural. :) Oh yeah, this is not a case of DOS! LOL! Just lemon &...

following the soap ball embeds fad

Ok I don't usually follow fads and fashions much, but when I see someone using a soapmaking technique that I haven't tried yet...I just can't resist. I'm not real happy with the spicy apple & peach because the balls look more like pepperoni than they do the red apples they were supposed to LOL...

    water vs. oil dispersed TD

I've got a few soaps that I use TD in, and when it comes time to make them I just kinda dread it because its such a pain getting the td to blend into the oil smoothly with no small tidbits or specks. I mix it into just a small amount of oil first making a paste then add more oil a little at a...

    When not soaping ;-)

I missed out on blackberry picking this year, so I was delighted to learn about the autumn olive. It's very abundant, packed with lycopene, and makes wonderful jelly :D Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Now I know it can't replace blackberry preserves...but it...

New swirls & the wonder of TD

Ok, I don't know if these bars will stay this light or not, it's my first time using TD. But I'm hopeful because by this time the pink sugar I ordered from NG had already turned brown (later to get DARK brown  ) So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed, I'd sure love if they stayed like this...
