A picture of ricing, volcanos, separating, overheating

I can't figure out for the life of me what happened here. It doesn't look like any of the examples above. as just playing. It's odd that some of the liquid separated out, but the soap is solidifying otherwise. Can I save this you think?

    Bath bomb questions

Do you guys get bath bombs that float using the coconut oil? I am using pretty much this exact recipe only I'm doing all coconut oil less the epsom salts and mine are not floating. It's annoying because they were floating. Wondering if I should try as suggested above and drop the oils as well.

    Bath bomb growing/exploding...

It's so funny. I have been trying different recipes. But I've made the same recipe and I've had different results ranging from them being perfect to cracking. I wasn't keeping good track of my actual amount of liquids. I am now. So maybe I'll see what's causing it. It is getting really...

    Bath bomb growing/exploding...

I just got some cocoa butter in some I am hoping to give that a try instead of coconut oil. Though, I love coconut oil over any other oil I've used to date. :D Thanks for the tip!

    Bath bomb growing/exploding...

Exactly, looked like a volcano exploding, except mine did it in just a minute or two! Yikes!

    Bath bomb growing/exploding...

I honestly can't remember if I'd switched to witch hazel when I did this recipe, but now I only use it. No water. When I try it again I am going to decrease the liquid and see if that helps. :D

    Bath bomb growing/exploding...

I wouldn't say that it's humid, normally throughout the year it is very humid here. But we are in the dry part of our year and other recipes have come out just fine. This is the first recipe I'd tried with powdered so I felt that could have something to do with it, but I think you may be right...

    Bath bomb growing/exploding...

Oh my goodness. Sorry, that I didn't see these comments ladies. I greatly appreciate your responses. I am going to go read each one right now. I got seriously sidetracked by my chickens. We are dealing with predators and I haven't even made a bomb in a couple of weeks now! :-(

    Bath bomb growing/exploding...

Hi all, I’ve been trying out some recipes and having success, but trying to find a recipe that the whole family likes. I’ve gone through a few recipes and found one that seemed fun, but when I made it and got the bombs in the molds the molds began growing apart and the mixture spilled out of...

    bath bombs problem

Thank you for the replies. I will try it again on Friday and watch my water and witch hazel. Usually humidity doesn't come into play where I live, but I will watch that too. Thanks for you input! ~Jeannette

    bath bombs problem

Hi, I just made my very first bath bombs today and I went back a couple of hours later to find they had 'risen'. The molds had come apart about a half inch and the bomb was oozing out of the mold. Any idea what I may have done wrong? I used this recipe: 1 c baking soda 1/2 c citric acid...

    Sub for milk products...

Hey there, I have seen a couple of recipes that I would really like to try but they have milk in them. I am vegan and do not want to put any dairy products in my soaps. So, I'm wondering if anyone has tried soy, rice, hemp, coconut milks as a sub for cows or goat milk?

    Palm oil

I found palm oil from our co-op, Azure Standard. I don't know if you live near one of their co-ops, but I got it for half the cost of what our local HFS was selling it for. I think you could check their website to see if there's a co-op near you, www.azurestandard.com

Just finished my first CP batch in 12 years!

Awe, thanks guys! It's nice to have a place where I can rave without people thinking I'm totally off my rocker! My DH thought I was just out of my mind the other day b/c I was chattering on and on. LOL I peeked at my soap yesterday and it looks AND smells so yummy! I can't wait to get it...

Just finished my first CP batch in 12 years!

Yippee! I was so scared about doing this again. I know I'm weird, but I've been so worried over getting it wrong with the cost involved. I didn't want to have to throw out expensive oils and EO's. But I'm done with a very basic OO recipe and YAY! I'm so glad! I'm ready to do some more...
