    Laundry soap oils

I didn't realize borax was bad for cloth diapers. I use cloth diapers so I'm thinking I should have known this before  So, do you think more people are interested in handmade laundry soap that doesn't have cold processed soap in it, or that it doesn't matter either way?

    Laundry soap oils

Does anyone make laundry soap? I have a customer who would like me to make some for her. I'm going to do a batch of 100% lard, but she has customers who are muslim and jewish and would have a problem with lard. What other oils would you use?

    Pockets of honey and lye...ugh

Thanks :D I like your rebatching page! I tried handmilling so many times with horrible results until I did the oven method. Now I handmill all the time. I'm going to make a milling video for my blog in the next few weeks...This is the first time I've actually HAD to rebatch

    Pockets of honey and lye...ugh

 I figured out that it isn't honey. I also added a Tbsp of course sugar. I thought I added it early enough that it should have melted, but aparently I didn't.

    Pockets of honey and lye...ugh

I made a beautiful batch of Goats milk, oatmeal and honey Tuesday. I cut it last night and found dark little spots that were a bit runny. When I did the zap test they were caustic. I was thinking about rebatching this and adding extra oils so the leftover lye can saponify. Will...

    Rebatching and fragrances

I do know how to rebatch...I just haven't added fo's. I'm making a rebatching kit for a few friends and want to know exactly how much fragrance to give them...wouldn't want to give them more than they need and have it bother their skin.

    Rebatching and fragrances

If I'm going to rebatch a base soap, how much fragrance/essential oil should I use per pound of base?

Does anyone have a good recipe for rebatching?

Hmmm, after my watery messes I've tried starting w/ less water. I think my last batch I started with 1/4 c water per 1# of soap. I figure I can always add water but not take any away... I recently read someone's method...she soaks her shavings in goats milk over night and then puts them in...

Does anyone have a good recipe for rebatching?

Almost forgot...some of my batches had too much water and were soupy, the one I boiled was way too hard even though I added quite a bit of water. It ended up looking like a huge pile of crap because I'd added cocoa powder...not pretty  Some of them I'd tried following Norma Coney's...

Does anyone have a good recipe for rebatching?

I've always grated mine with a regular size cheese grater. Add a little water and put it in some sort of a heating element...I've done a double boiler, used my enamel pots in the oven and tried boiling the soap in plastic bags. i don't really remember what recipes i've used because its been...

Does anyone have a good recipe for rebatching?

Its hard to be specific...I've tried a number of different batches, all varying in oil types. My first try was with the Olive Oil Castile batch in Norma Coney's book and all tries where incredible flops. I've tried the oven method a few times, boiling in bags a few times, stove...

    Help! Layering emergency

Yesterday I made the coolest soap. The bottom layer has coffee with coffee and biscotti fragrances. I also imbeded light brown biscotti looking sticks. The second layer I used titanium dioxide and sprinkled cinamon on top to make it look like the whipped cream on top of my favorite starbucks...
