What soapy thing have you done today?

My soapy thing for today was learning that Bramble Berry has 20% off all fragrance oils through the 25th. You're welcome 😉

    Seventh Batch

Lovely colors! I added this to my bookmarks for future soapy inspiration.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Wet soap Wednesday 😎 It really doesn't look as nice anymore, having cracked while on the heating pad.

February 2024 SMF Challenge: Latte Art Designs (Pretty Soap Tops) ☕️

I think I'll have time today to squeeze in an attempt, but I'm waiting to sign up till it's actually made. I do have a question, though. The challenge guidelines state: "Although a slab mold is probably easiest for this technique, you may also use a loaf mold or plain cavity molds (round, oval...

How do you choose your color palettes?

One way I pick color palettes is by googling for pre-made palettes (e.g. "three color combination" or "four color palette"). This helps guide me toward palettes that actually look good design-wise. Here are a two examples of soaps that I based on online color palettes: Sometimes, especially...

    Ceramics Painting

I took a pottery class this fall with some coworkers and absolutely loved it. We spent more time wheel throwing than finishing, but we did get to try glazing in our last session. Here's a picture of some of our finished pieces (not all are mine).

old, new to me Christmas song

I learned this song a number of years back when my dad pulled out an old cassette tape and played it for my siblings and I. We all think it's great 😁 And I do occasionally hear it in radio Christmas mixes as well.

Can I CPOP the next day? Urgent question.

I'm terribly glad you asked this, @KiwiMoose. I recently wondered the same thing but didn't try to see if my loaf would still gel. @AliOop, you mentioned gelling on a heating pad after cutting. Do you know how long after cutting this would work? I'm assuming several weeks might be too long?

SMF November 2023 Challenge - Splash Swirl Technique

@Tammyfarms I love your not-actually-splash-swirl soap! I'd like to be able to make a batch like that on purpose ;)

Entry Thread for the SMF November 2023 Challenge - Splash Swirl Technique

I wasn't sold on the splash swirl to begin with, but I decided to try it since I was soaping anyway and needed design ideas. (That's one great thing about soap challenges—they give me incentive to branch out and try new techniques!) My soap is scented with one of my all-time favorite...

How cool do you soap for this sort of design?

What soapy thing have you done today?

Wow, I happened to see this soap ion the Soap Challenge Club site over the weekend when I was searching for inspiration for landscape soaps, and I absolutely loved it. @Benjifrazer Did you make multiple small batches for the different layers? I struggle to keep my soap batter fluid long enough...

SMF November 2023 Challenge - Splash Swirl Technique

This video helped me with my attempt 👍 I really like her ombre combined with the splashes.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Patience, patience 😁 In other news, I just finished a soapy marathon, feel drained, and am gonna let the dishes sit a bit while I recover. Here's the design I was going for.

What soapy thing have you done today?

A tiger stripe batch is tucked away on the heating pad. Here's a sneak peek of the top. This makes 6 batches in 7 days, with plans for another tomorrow. When the soaping bug bites...what's a soaper to do?? 🤷‍♀️

SMF November 2023 Challenge - Splash Swirl Technique

I bet you didn't actually do too many swirls. I felt that way and ended up wishing I'd done more!

What soapy thing have you done today?

Came home early from work today and tried something new—beeswax and honey soap. The beeswax was raised/harvested by my uncle, and I'm planning to return some to him in soap form for Christmas. Used EOs instead of FO like usual, a blend of geranium, lavender, and tea tree. I like! Also tried a...

SMF November 2023 Challenge - Splash Swirl Technique

    Same as @KiwiMoose - I don't cover my hanger.

SMF November 2023 Challenge - Splash Swirl Technique

I've never owned an actual hanger tool. Mine are legit hangers, bent and repurposed into soaping tools. Works great! If you do try using a wire hanger, be sure it's the coated kind. I made my challenge soap yesterday. The technique was not hard and was rather fun. I cut it this morning. If I...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I'm over here in VA giggling while catching up on this thread 😁 I haven't soaped much this year, but today I bit the bullet and made 3 batches back-to-back. It felt really good! And with the time change tonight, I have an extra hour to cut it in the morning!
