How To Make Even, Professional-Looking M&P Bars?

I asked Bud to make me a certain type of cutter and he said he's too busy with what he's already working on, hard to keep up with orders.

How To Make Even, Professional-Looking M&P Bars?

Hi there Rpclarke, There is a single bar cutter available, that's made for softer m&p loaves, I bought one. If you make it with low sweat (harder) m&p, it will be too hard for the cutter. But should do fine with softer than low sweat type based soap loaves. I snapped my wire on 1st use cuz I...

    Soap making suppliers fading labels

I have taped over labels before to help with this issue on different co. labels. I guess it helps that I'm ridiculously picky about drippages on everything...for that very reason, I hate when labels get smudged, lol. Annoying to be that way, but it does help in this area. 🤪

    Soap Sweating in shower

The glycerin in the soap draws the moisture from the air (shower in this case). It creats sweat beads. The only thing you can do is use "low sweat" m&p base. But it will still sweat in a warm shower, just not as much. It isn't a bad thing, just affects the look of it. 🙂

MELT and pour soap crumbles after few uses

You'll have to just try it since there are so many factors...air temp/humidity level, what brand base you're using and how well it accepts additives, which butters/oils you're using, etc. Maybe try making one bar at a time with just a small amt of butter/oil added and see how it performs. Your...

If you can order bases from another supplier may be worth a try too. It can vary between manufacturers for sure. Best wishes!

MELT and pour soap crumbles after few uses

It can dry it out if the air is very dry, yes. If you can keep it in a cooler place, would be a very good idea too. Try adding butters/oils to it too, that will help.

MELT and pour soap crumbles after few uses

Ok, is it a dry environment or humid? It can be drying out too fast from the high heat, typically it will melt thought. M&P will absorb the moisture from the air and create what's called "sweating", the moisture sits on the soap as lil water drops. I would suggest adding soft butters and/or...

MELT and pour soap crumbles after few uses

You may need to add some softer m&p to it like goat's milk or another moisturizing base or oils, shea butter while making it. Which base are you using?

    Coloring Question

Thanks a bunch! I gave it a try using premixed colorants (in glycerin), and it worked. I gave them a couple days to completely dry, then placed them in a clear bin layed out flat on paper towel. They look great! I appreciate your input!
