    December 2019 Un-Challenge - New to You

Wanted to try a few hanger swirl techniques. Bottom layer made with circular hanger swirl through entire layer. Second later I took the hanger through two times horizontally only (thought I would get a different look). White layer; then top layer with a thicker batter swirled together. This is...

    Olive oil in CP

I left a message with Kirkland's main office, no response. I recently submitted soap for the advanced soap making certification for HSCG and was required to submit my SDS sheets for all the oils. Much to my surprise, I couldn't get them from a couple major suppliers. So, I had to resubmit my...

    DIY Silicone Liners?

I had my husband make wooden soap molds for me so that I have the bar size that I want. But, I miss my silicone liners. I have been lining with paper. I have heard that you can make your own silicone liners. Has anyone been able to do this without latex? Any links or videos? Thanks.

    Olive oil in CP

I love the Kirkland brand Olive Oil from Costco as well. The issue I have with it lately is that I can not get an SDS sheet on it. Comparison Shopping Site

This would be a great resource, looks like it may be new and needs some tweaking. Maybe if we all submit feedback it will be valuable in the future. Thanks for sharing.

    HP landscape attempt

Looks good, natural colorants are beautiful. When I have something that didn't turn out the way I wanted, I always remind myself that I learn something from every batch of soap I make.

My first attempt ... soda ash got me. What to do?

Sometimes, I have had luck spraying the soap with water, waiting 5 minutes and then spraying again with rubbing alcohol 70%. I read this trick in Making Soap Magazine last year. It will improve the ash in some cases. And of course as stated above, water discount helps and gelling. When I use...

    Zany's No Slime Castile

Sounds lovely, where is the no slime formula? I made castile soap two months ago with a good organic Olive oil. I went to check on it yesterday and it had DOS! I guess I won't be buying that brand of olive oil again.
