    Soap smelling like frying oil

My lavender soap smell a bit of frying oil, though the coconut oil was melted "au bain marie"/hot water. Maybe it took on the smell of the olive and coconut oil I moved them to the cellar. It cooler there. I am not sure about air flow though... I might find a fan to help with that :) Where do...

So, the soaps were on a tray in a wardrobe. We turned them everyday and tried to keep the wardrobe open when possible. Thanks for your replies^^

    Soap smelling like frying oil

Soap was done almost 2weeks ago, coconut and olive oil freshly bought, melted at around 50/60°C and smelled good until the heat wave came by.

    First soap results

Hello everyone! I did my first soap this Saturday, and it seems to be going well with the curing process so far. We did a simple Marseille soap, 70% olive and 30% coco oil, and cold process. We did everything outside to make sure the fumes wouldn't be bothersome. The "soap batter" was put in...

    First soap this saturday

Thanks for your feedback ! I found a recipe very similar to yours that looks easy enough^^ as for the temperature, as I am doing cold process, I will just make sure that everything is at room temperature before starting.

    First soap this saturday

I will be doing a cold process and I understand that temperatures are quite important in that case ^^ but I guess a simple one would work for the first time :) thanks for the advice !

    First soap this saturday

Hello, fellow soap enthusiasts! I am making my first soap, simple marseille soap, this weekend if everything goes well. I am reaching out to you with several questions, though. First, I am wondering what type of oils to choose. As it's a test and not meant for selling, I was planning on using...

Rice oil or Rice bran oil. What's the difference?

Thanks to all for your answers! I have finally found that it's apparently made out of rice bran oil after hours of research. But I will still make sure again at the shop to be absolutely sure. Buying the first oils isn't easy ^^' Thanks again for answering my rather stupid question

Rice oil or Rice bran oil. What's the difference?

Hi!^^ I hope you are all having a good day :) So, I am currently making an Excel table with all the oils usable in soap making, their properties, how they trace, pricing,... But I have a problem with one of the oils. Apparently, you can use rice oil to replace olive oil. Wich can be useful if...

I am thinking of starting a local soap brand, with a subscription; maybe in the future. That's why I am learning about soap making! I have loads of questions, of course, and...
