I am using 1 Tablespoon of EO’s total per 1 pound of oils and butter without using the amount of lye and water. I don’t have a small enough scale to measure any other way.

Do you have any suggestions on using Alkanet or Madder Root powder? They don’t mix in like the powder spices do.

Your soap is so pretty. Do you split the batter at a lite trace and then add in powered spices? I’m finding working with natural colors to be the most challenging part of the soaping process.

I'm temped to mix up half the lye amount and try to re batch. I guess I never mixed my solution. I did get it to trace. It looked beautiful for a few hours and them it was all over:(

My mistake is worse than Madison’s. I tried my first loaf size and it turned into a messy glob. When I went to clean up today I realized their was a hard ring of lye left in my container. It’s good Essential Depot lye so I can’t blame the lye. Since I don’t know how much lye I’m missing I guess...
