What soapy thing have you done today?

I made my first goat's milk soap today. I did not scent or colour it just to see and smell it in its natural state. It behaved well. I poured it into individual rectangular molds. Nephew has a hobby farm with a few goats. I see more goat's milk soap in my future! His dad is a hobby bee...

How much soap is in your house?

Bars galore! I have made over 35 batches since January. I don't have enough family and friends to keep giving to! I appreciated earlene's suggestions for disseminating these little treasures. Off to 'fancy up' some soaps to give to the volunteer staff at church camp this week.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Earline, I too wish the best for your brother. Tough stuff. Everybody's soaps are just lovely! I made a batch (small) of 'watermelon' soap Sunday. Thought it was too orangish for watermelon, so made another batch (small) yesterday and ran out of the pinks and reds I was using (I needed...

Coconut Oil drying effects offset by butter(s)?

I understand that Coconut Oil if used more than 15% in soap MAY be drying for some people. Point well taken. However, in many of the soap making videos that I have watched (pretty much non-stop :) 'experienced soapers' often use it at 25% or even 30%. I have also noticed that many of them use up...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I made my first batch of soap dough. Used Soap Sorcery's recipe and neon soap colorant from MoldMarket. I want to try the 'Galaxy' soap I saw Mama Bass Handmade Soap create. I see that here on the forum, midnightsoaper also made some fantastic looking galaxy bars! I hope it is ok to copy - I...

    Homemade Shampoo

I would like to try this... but a kit is over $33 US and the shipping is about $40 US. That means 3 bars of shampoo cost about $100 Canadian. ( It would be even more costly to buy individual supplies and then not end up using them if you didn't like the bars or whatever!)

    sending a conversation help?

A newbie question that I couldn't find answered using the search feature... I create a conversation with someone just fine, but I cannot find a button to actually send it! I have created about three or four messages (same one over and over) with a person who is from the same city with a...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I unmolded what I call soap cakes! I used a recipe that called for coconut milk and I had success, except I overblended and ended up with a really thick trace. So I traded my pretty swirl idea for 'icing' and I frosted the creamy coloured bars with batter coloured with turmeric. I am a new...

Hello from the middle of Canada!

Hello. My name is Pat (or Trisher) and I am afraid that I am becoming a soapaholic. I want to make soap - every. single. day. I have been soaping since January and so far so good. I want to try every colour and swirl technique I see! Question for you: What am I going to do with all this...
