Save On Scents FO's - Your Opinion Please?

I use a lot of scents from Save on Scents. They're wonderful. I have never experienced problems with them. SOS for the most part is great for CP soaping but if it's a scent that tends to be on the light side like Cucumber Melon I say upgrade to ultra or extreme. I've used the scents not only...

    Playing around with soap again!!!

Ok so I just made liquid soap with NaOH instead of KOH and it worked!!! so yes it can be done. The only problem is that because the mixture is not a paste you will need more time to dissolve and have to spend time cutting soap into chunks. I will take some pics of the soap later on and post...

How do you mix oxide or any powered color in your soap?

What I do is put some of the oil about 1 oz and put it in a small cup I them add my mica or oxide and mix well. Then add small drops to the soap... If your batch gelled the color will be much darker. also if you want to go for pastels you may want to try adding some titanium dioxide to your...

    ouch!!!!

It was a PVC pipe mold. I used a end cap and apparently I didn't secure it enough. So when I picked it up to relocate the end cap fell off and you know the rest. I have officially proven that I can't soap late at night. lol

    ouch!!!!

oh my does that it hurt. I was soaping like normal when the bottom of my mold came off and a nice fresh batch of soap went all over my legs and chest. Thank God I was wearing long pants, and all the protective clothing and gear. I still got burned but it's not what it could have been. So yes...

    Milk soaps and PVC moulds

I use 18 inch PVC all the time to make GM soap. I have had no problems. One tip I will give you about milk is this. Do a water discount (I do at least 40%) and add the milk to the oils not the lye water. Let your lye water cool to 90º F and same for oils. You will get a nice pale color bar...

Something new for me, and I think I like it!!!

We use them. My kids have one in their bathroom as I type. It's not hard to wash with them but it does take some getting used to. I really like to use it with a washcloth.

batch started rising like a cake

Temperature is evrything. If you used a FO or EO make sure it's not one that tends to heat up your batch. IF it is just let your lye water and oils cool down more. When I do Cinnamon I have to soap at around 90º F so that this doesn't happen.
