Maybe the soap overheated? I have found small pockets of soap or fragrance oil but never one big hole this way.

I am not using 'extra' - just the normal amount (anywhere from .5-1oz ppo). EOs don't saponify so the benefits would still be 'intact'. But the degreasing in my soap comes from the coconut oil and lower super fat (I normally do a coconut/shea soap with a 15-20% SF). Also, the poppy seeds...

I do a 100% coconut oil soap with a 10% SF, poppy seeds, Sweet Orange x10, Spearmint, Litsea Cubeba EOs. And color it with carrot puree. Its so ridiculously efficient at degreasing and smells so good!

I like weeping honey spots in my soap :oops: It looks neat and honey is actually really good at being a cleanser for the skin. Soooo that means I add mine to the batter after thinning it a smidge in a portion of the water. This ensures me weeping honey pockets lol.

Your solution is 1/2 lye and 1/2 water. You look at your lye requirements and multiply that by 2 (to get 100% of your lye requirement but since more water is needed than lye, you will need to find out how much more to add) and that is how much total solution to measure out. Then you subtract...

IrishLass is my sparkly soap hero :D I've been using the method she posted for over a year now and its WONDERFUL!!! In fact, I have TWO 'Downy' softener bottles (Costco size) that I fill up on a somewhat weekly basis. Makes soaping lovely, a little less stressful, and casual.

Really? Cause I have to wait DAYS and a freezer to unmold my high olive oil soaps...and even after I unmold them, I have to wait a little longer to cut. They don't get rock hard for at least 12 weeks...now coconut soap is another story. If I do a 100% CO, I have to unmold and cut within 12...

I do try to incorporate it in all of my products but my store is named 'the Coconut Crush' because I think coconuts are magical :lol: I also don't love castile AT ALL...the slime factor icks me out big time so even my 'gentle' formula has a wee bit of coconut in it. None of my soaps dry ME...

Oh super! Adding it now - it smells so good! I put Litsea Cubeba, Sweet Orange x 10, and Spearmint EOs along with some poppyseeds and the carrot. The color RAWKS and totally matches the smellies :wink:

Not the anise variety, but the 100% CO soap...I make a soap I call Grease Monkey for mechanics but thought I'd add some carrot puree for color. Will this ruin the cleansing properties at all? I still want to be able to market it as 'lathering in salt water' but worried the carrot will do...

I just add all of my milk at trace - it works so well when the freezer method is usually 80% fail for me lol.
