Wanting to learn more about twist-up tubes

Yes, it would resolidify, however, if you have the tube in your purse it might not be the best place you would want it to melt. I had a customer that had some on their store shelves. The room was relatively warm and a couple of them melted. If in a tin with a screw top you would have less chance...

Wanting to learn more about twist-up tubes

I went from metal containers to cardboard tubes and the plastic deodorant style tubes for my lotion bars....I am now switching back to metal containers simply because when the lotion sticks get warm they melt.

    CPOP lesson learned

Thanks for your reply. Like I mentioned, this is really my first time trying it. I know that they are cosmetic but I sell my soap and don't like them or think my customers would like them either. I did use the same amount of water so I will reduce the amount. I will try those suggestions in a...

    CPOP lesson learned

I primarily do HP soap making and decided I wanted to try CPOP. So, instead of starting with a small batch of course I used a 5 pound recipe as I have a great big new mold. It looked so pretty with lots of wonderful swirls and I was so excited about maybe doing this more. I used TD in my recipe...

Tallow based HP or CP with synthetic detergent added for foam/bubble/lathering effect.

I primarily do HP and use tallow, coconut oil and olive oil as my base. The soap is amazing with lots of luscious lather. I will sometimes superfat it with either shea butter, mango or kokum butter.

    New Member Tonya Brown

Amazon carries an affordable distiller. I purchased one. It makes about a gallon of water at a time. It's not super fast, takes about four hours to distill the water but you can always have water when you need it.

    Slow order fulfillment

After sending an email asking where my order was it shipped, but one item was back ordered. no communication from them at all. I waited over a week and sent another email asking them to cancel the item that was back ordered and refund my money. Surprisingly my back ordered item was received...

    Slow order fulfillment

Is anyone else having a hard time getting products ordered from Wholesale supplies plus and Make your own buzz? It is sometimes taking way over three to four weeks to get an order filled. Usually if I get frustrated and send an email miraculously the order will be filled within a day or two...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I make resin soap dishes, which I think are quite lovely. None of my new soap fits but I tell my customers to just sit the soap on top of the mold and one day it will fit completely inside.

    Soap Shreds in lye water

I do HP and am lousy at doing rebatches so I will shred soap, put it in my lye water to kind of soften it and then add it to my new oils.

    Shampoo bar questions?

Okay. Just sharing what I'm sharing. If it is working for you great. I sell my products and would not want to take a chance on damaging anyone's hair based on pH.

    Shampoo bar questions?

I make a syndet bar with a small amount of SCI powder but also include Ayurvedic herbs, some of which are natural surfactants like Shikaki and AMLA as well as Aritha (soapnuts)

    Shampoo bar questions?

Soap is not good for the hair. The pH from soap is around 7.0, however, the pH of hair is around 4.5 to 5.5. This is why people use an apple cider vinegar rinse afterwards to help lower the pH of the soap. Using soap as shampoo can ultimately damage the hair down the road.

    Semi-Boiled soap process: Curing duration

I do hot process and usually allow my soaps to rest a couple of weeks. One of the other things that I do is shred older soaps, let them sit in the lye water and then add that lye water to my oil/fats. I then stick blend everything as usual. I find this actually produces a harder bar. It may...

I usually wait until they are unmolded and dry, then I spray then with alcohol and let them dry again.
