    Something slightly different...

My goat kids would be tapdancing on the bench. :) I make my cheese like that, only with white vinegar rather than lemon juice. Sometimes, I leave it as a soft ricotta-like cheese, but more often I make it into a pressed, feta-like cheese. I line a container (that has drain holes) with...

    Pine Tar + Goat Milk = ???

Well? Did you try it? Did it work? :-D 'Cuz I want to do the same thing!

    Breast Milk Soap

As a farmer, I must take exception to this comment. I milk cows for a living and we take great care to clean and sanitize the teats before and after we milk. I also milk my goats for our own consumption - same thing - and we drink it raw. Eight years and never a problem.

    Suppliers in Ontario, Canada

There's also Canwax (canwax.com - I think). They were in the GTA but moved up towards Huntsville. I deal mostly with Sapphire Blue as I can pick up and visit a friend in Tillsonburg at the same time. Also, I buy most of my oils from them, so the money I save on not shipping the heavy stuff...

    Goats milk soaps

I make goat's milk soap as well, as my girls produce more than we need. Sadly, soapmaking doesn't use up an awful lot of milk. :Kitten Love: As far as recipes go, I just substitute goat's milk for the water. I freeze it in the quantity I need, and add the lye, very slowly, until the milk has melted...

    Using butter to make soap

I used to work as a buyer for a manufacturer of industrial lubricants. As I recall, caprylic acid smelled a lot like dead billy goats! That being said, I'm jealous that you are able to make goat butter . . . bottle kids are drinking all my extra milk!

    Full milk or half?

I do only 100% goat milk as I always have far too much milk in my fridge! :D I freeze it ahead of time, weighing out what I need for each batch in individual containers. I then add the lye to the frozen milk, a bit at a time, making sure I keep stirring the slush as it becomes liquid. It's...

    Oatmilk soap labeling

Unless it came out of an udder, it's not really *milk*. So, yes, I would label it as water and oats.

    GOATS MILK SOAP ????

Probably not pasteurized :D , in which case it won't be homogenized either - raw, straight from the cow.

    GOATS MILK SOAP ????

Like MeadowHillFarmCT, I make goat's milk soap because I have my own goats. There's about 60+ litres in my freezer right now . . . I did just pull out a bar of the very first soap I ever made (without goat's milk), about two-three years ago now? and it's pretty nice! :D I have...

    That's because it's "dead".

    Goats Milk question!

It sounds to me like you may have added the lye too quickly and burnt the milk. Did you dump it into the milk all at once? I freeze my milk solid and add the lye very slowly - maybe a TBS at a time, moosh it around, scrape off the slush, then add more lye. I keep stirring the almost liquid...

    Something funny to share...

Given some of the weird stuff that people put in their soap . . . . I'm sure someone, somewhere, has tried it!

    Is there a difference?

Interesting question! I believe colostrum has more vitamins, minerals and antibodies than regular milk - whether that would do anything for the soap or not . . . Me, I freeze it and keep it for the following year's kidding season. :D
