    Fragrancing aftershave

Sounds good. I’ll make the conversion. My current base recipe is measured in US Cups. So... where can I post more questions about fragrances? For instance, when scaling recipes like this, do I use the same multiplier for FO’s, or do I increase the FO on its own? Sorry if that’s confusing.

    Fragrancing aftershave

I didn’t mean to sound ignorant. Weight makes sense for soaps, but since aftershave is fluid, volume makes sense.

    Fragrancing aftershave

Awesome. So it’s by weight, not volume, even with aftershave?

    Fragrancing aftershave

This post was in reference to aftershave. The other one was shave soap. I wasn’t sure where to post it to get an answer. Regardless, this forum is a treasure trove of helpfulness!! Man, you’re all over the place [emoji1303]

Scent Maturity - EO and Alcohol

You're a life saver. This has been the one thing causing me to lose sleep.

    scenting a shave soap

That's good to know. The other thing I worry about is since I add my FO at a higher temp than normal CP (hence "modified CP") maybe a bit of the FO is evaporating. But possibly not; we're usually nowhere near the flashpoint. I think I'm comfortable thinking that it's because I smell the scents...

    scenting a shave soap

Update: I've noticed that once the soap is made, if I cap the jar before it's completely hardened (still warm), then the scent has strengthened itself overnight. Is there something I missed about fragrances maturing over time after curing?

    Fragrancing aftershave

I made a fantastic shave soap and I'm wanting to make a matching aftershave. I have the base recipe worked out, but the fragrance is hanging me up. I'm not sure if I'm restricted to EO's. If so, I might be outta luck. I guess my question is can I use FO in alcohol based aftershave without risk...

Scent Maturity - EO and Alcohol

Is there any reason you can or can't use FO's in aftershave? I made my shave soap first and want a splash to go with it. I have the recipe, I'm just getting hung up on the fragrances to match the soap. If I can use FO then perfect. If I need to use EO then I might be outta luck.

    scenting a shave soap

Both. Honestly I think they’re good. There’s a possibility that I had been smelling the scent for so long I became immune to it.

    scenting a shave soap

I have made multiple 3lb batches of modified CP shave soap using approximately 1oz of FO, but the scents don't POP like other soaps. Any suggestions on making scents more pronounced?
