    safe to use?

I made two batches of oatmeal honey soap. The first batch came out beautifully! The second batch threw up, ha! I soaped it too hot(dumb mistake) and with the addition of the honey it got even hottter. I zap tested it this morning and it passed but since much of it ended up outside the mold...

Anyone use a preservative in your soap?

So how long, on average, does handmade soap last?

Where do you cure your soap?

Hmm, I put mine in a spare bedroom closet on a shelf my grandpa built me. Not everybody has the extra space to store things in non-living spaces, that would mean only certain people can soap. We live in an apartment. I wonder why you're not supposed to?

    Baby Soap scent - EO

It's not allergies it's because honey is a raw product and may contain botulism, not good for babies. I doubt it would survive saponification.

how do you use shampoo soap on long hair?

I had a hard time with it at first. My hair is about the middle of my back, first I lather the ends directly with the soap then I lather my hands a few times to get the rest of my head. I really love it!

    Re-setting your skin

Same here, I haven't felt any build up. I won't ever buy commercial soap or shampoo again. My skin and hair have never felt better. I made a shampoo bar and my chronically itchy scalp is no longer itchy. I used to rotate shampoos weekly and used head and shoulders once a month, it would be...

    Crockpot Soap

I do 2.8lbs in my 4 quart, more specifically 1279g. It's the amount my husband calculated to fill my mold to the top and depending on the batch it's potentially too much for the crock. I made an 90/10 Bastille and it did fine, then I made a lard coconut and it bubbled over. I had to watch the...

I found using fresh frozen goats milk helps keep it a more milky color rather than orange, and adding the lye slowly.

    Grapeseed oi...and Safflower oil ?

I used grapeseed in a shampoo bar at 5%, it's not old enough yet to have DOS but I used a lower amount because I read it caused it.

    Dried Rosemary ?

The rosemary I added to my peppermint soap looks like mouse poop, though they are not little oval shapes like lavender.

    Soap Scum

ME TOO!!! Once on a trip, pre soapmaking, I forgot my lotion and suffered lotion free from Nevada to Colorado. I was so itchy I resorted to using rosebud on my face, arms, and neck. Stupid me didn't even think to stop and buy some lotion lol So yes, I'll take the scum over yucky feeling...
