    Hot process fun and cupcakes.

As a new soaper I wasn't sure about hot process. It sounded terrifying. Also I'm not sure about the "rustic" look. But I gave it a whirl and and I'm in love! I made A batch with a Lush-type fragrance from Nurture for my son and one with fir-needle oil and charcoal for my husband. I used the...

Baby steps in making soap cupcakes.

I took my first stab at making soap cupcakes today with the goal of learning how to do it well enough to make soap cupcakes for christmas gifts. I used the Soaping 101 cupcake recipe and instructions and a piping set I got at Dollar Tree. They look a bit like sparkly poop emojis, but it went...

What do you do with all the soap?

Thanks for all the ideas! For those that label, how do you do that/ do you include the oils, fragrance and colors? do you list sodium hydroxide or do you say th oils are "saponified"?

    Fun with mp!

That soap is fantastic!! I've made mp for years and am getting into cp. I think they both have their advantages. Personally, I really love the beautiful stained glass and color effects you can get with mp!

What do you do with all the soap?

Hello! Im very new to the hobby and this forum.. Out of curiosity, what do the serious soap hobbyists do with all your excess soap? There's really only so much a family can use, and my friends/ neighbors aren't sharing my enthusiasm. I'm planning on making (a lot) more as I love the whole...

Thank you for the recipe! I have written down notes for my attempted soaps in my planner! I’ll check out Soapee! I really had no idea there were so many resources!

    My first recipe.

Thank you! I’ve actually made a couple of other batches prior to these, but I used premixed oils from Bramble berry. This was my first attempt at creating from scratch. I actually like these better as I feel like “I did it all by myself”! And I feel like I learned more about how it actually works.

    My first recipe.

Wow! Great to know and thank you! We do have a target and walmart close by. I watched Soap 101's tutorial on Dollar Store soap and she mentioned the cocoa butter as well! I haven't looked at or even heard of Soaper's Choice but I'm going to head there now. Sorry, I am not doing too well at...

    My first recipe.

I realize it needs to cure for a few more weeks, but I couldn't resist so us used a sliver. this is what it did. not drying at all. I am going to try the lard/coconut/olive/castor combo next week I think. Id I'd like to find a good basic recipe to use as a "control' and then I can se how the...

    My first recipe.

Thanks! I only just found out what DOS is! I will go thru the suggested section. I'm not committed to using grape seed oil, I just liked the challenge of using what I had immediately available. I do sort of want to avoid palm oil. I may try my next batch with lard!

    My first recipe.

It's great to find this forum and I just joined today. I am really new at soap making, but I love experimentation. I'm hoping for advice and critiquing from experienced soapers. Last week I made a batch of soap after reading up on the oils I had in my pantry (I didn't want to buy or order...

hello and I'm here to learn.

I've dabbled with making soap for a few years, I've made about 6 batches of cold process soap (with varying degrees of success), and countless melt and pour soaps. I like both methods-as far as I can tell they each have their different challenges. I've decided I want to get serious and learn as...
