    curcumin powder

It is a spice used for baking and canning. You'll find it in the grocers spice aisle and I have always seen it labelled as Turmeric where I live. I add a pinch to my dill pickles and it gives the pickles a slight flavour difference and changes the brine to a beautiful amber colour. Spices are...

My turn to share some pictures!

Really pretty. Love the stars. Have you ever tried putting the stars in the soap? If you need any help with doing embeds into your loaves just email me at the store. I'm always happy to talk techniques! They are really beautiful...love the colours.

    The Iris

Thanx everyone, I really love making these. They are done Petal by Petal and you build them. The Iris is quite easy as there are not many petals to place. Thanx for looking, Lorie

    Bamboo Candles

a vase...of course...and what if...I made bamboo stick molds for soap to sit in that vase? You could have the amazing candles and the soaps right there....Zen central :D I'd be happy to make them if anyone is interested. Lorie

    Bamboo Candles

What if you sealed the bottom and filled them with bath salts or / bubble/milk bath. I see them wrapped in cello. Are they big enough to put a bar inside? Lorie

    Bamboo Candles

    Another Deliberate Seize

Ps: Scooter, when the batch seizes, it depends on the amount of seize. Some only seize a little. Both of these batches were rock hard. I cut them with a knife and tossed them into the molds. No smooshing. Just chunked them in there, poured the 2nd colour over them and added my colour chunks...

    Another Deliberate Seize

Hi :D Scooter, I split my batch and only seize the bottom layer. I keep the separated portion sitting quietly at light trace on the side waiting for the fireworks to begin. It depends on the colours you plan to use. Main batch has to be the lightest colour and you have to be able to...

    Increase suds

Hi! All the mp bars that we make for the store have it added to them to boost the lather and it works for us. Our thing is Lather, and we don't add any other surfactants to our batches. Shopping for a better base is a really good suggestion, there are great bases out there. Lorie

    Another Deliberate Seize

I guess brave a little bit but really I believe that anything is possible, you just have to dig in till it works. I haven't thrown out a batch of soap in probably 19 years. And I got tired of having to check the bottles for my notes on what it can be used for, and then have certain fragrances...

    Another Deliberate Seize

This one I made at 3:00 am. We are having 'bear' issues and one woke me up at 2:30 clawing at my basement door. Charming. So..I'm UP. Might as well make the best of it. This one is Tequila Sunrise Rose. Makes me want a Tequila Sunrise when I look at it and it's scented with Rose fragrance...

    curcumin powder

Go light to start. I'd start with a 1/2 teaspoon per lb. You can always add more, turmeric is quite a strong colorant. I've just posted pics in the photo gallery (DELIBERATE SEIZE...YES REALLY) that i have used Tumeric as the colorant. I used about 1.5 teaspoons for a 4lb batch of cp soap...

    Increase suds

Hi, Here's the rule of thumb. Add no more than 1/4 cup of anything to a lb of mp. Anything more and you are messin with the lather. If you want to boost the suds add 1/4 cup of Coconut oil to a lb of mp and you are good to go. Lorie

What is rubbing alcohol and where can I get it?!

Hi, Rubbing alcohol is Isopropyl Alcohol and you can get it at any pharmacy in any larger dept. store, or at a drug store. It is very inexpensive. Just put the alcohol in a spray bottle and spray right after you pour to remove any air bubbles. You don't want bubbles between your layers...

    DELIBERATE SEIZE...YES... REALLY

Great, thanx for the tip Soapbuddy. Tomorrow I'm going to make 'Rose' soap. The fragrance oil is the worst I've ever used :D The supplier listed it as good for cp but when I tried it I was so disappointed that it sat in my cupboard for months. I used it for bombs and mp. I'll try and get...
