    FO/clumping q?

Okay, so I used WSP's jasmine fo. As soon as I added it everything started to clump up? I've read others talk about fo's speeding up the process. I quickly poured it into the mold, added color and stirred. So, what now? Is it going to be okay. The clumping was frightening. :(

    Favorite place to buy supplies?

I have only ordered EOs/FOs from WSP. I liked them a lot. I really need to find a good place to buy butters and oils too. What is your favorite place with reasonable places? I am paying too much at the health food store.

    Err, old oils? (pics added)

I'm pretty sure my 2nd batch is getting DOS. Very upsetting! The recipe had 45% OO, so I'm assuming that is why. I opened a new bottle of OO for this soap. I guess it was sitting on the shelf too long, ugh. I used the light instead of extra virgin. I read the lighter OO was better in soap, but...

I just used my first soap...

and I love it! It's creamy and has a lovely lather to it. I thought it was going to be lye heavy, but it's not. I'm just so excited. It motivates me to make more. My second batch still has a couple weeks to cure before I can try it out. I'm thinking I may make my 1st recipe again and attempt...

    Lye Heavy Soap

Is there anything you can do to make this less likely to happen in soap? I was reading another thread and wondering if any preventative measure could be taken? TIA!

    lye %

If you have some time would you talk to me about what percentage of lye you usually use in your recipes and why? I know this is a broad question but any input would be great!

How long does soap stay good for?

Is there an average time that soap stays good for? I'm making soap for myself and friends and wondering about how much I can make ahead of time without it going bad. Thanks!

    coconut oil q

I just made my second batch of soap. I used coconut oil in the 1st as well as the 2nd. I got the oil for the 1st batch at a health food store. It was more of a solid and more expensive. For the second batch I purchased the oil at Walmart, and it was liquid. I went ahead and soaped with it but...

Help. Can someone please critique my first SoapCalc attempt?

I finally have everything I need to start my first batch. I was so excited when I found a stainless steel pot at Big Lots yesterday for $10. This is what I am planning on using for my first batch. I have been playing around with SoapCalc, and I'm just not that sure about it all quite yet. Can...

Hi, a question before I make my first batch. TIA!

Okay, I have pretty much everything I need to make my first CP batch. I do still need a pot though. Does it have to be stainless steel? If so, any ideas on where I could get one at a decent price? I'm thinking about checking out some garage sales, but I'm not sure I can wait that long. I just...

    Hi, noob here.

Hello everyone! I've been lurking for awhile while researching and accumulating all my supplies. I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. My name is Kim, I haven't made any soap YET. I love handmade soaps and have become very interested in making my own. I'm mainly interested in CP soap for...
