How do you store soaps you keep for yourself?

naked in a linen closet or a high cabinet lined with waxed paper in my kitchen. :D

    the smell of cp soap

The smell of your unscented soap relies a lot on what oils you use in the soap. I can't stand the smell of palm oil in soap AT ALL. I wish I did, as I can get it locally for half the price of the coconut I have delivered, lol. As you discovered, overheating your oils before mixing your lye...

    Why do people CPOP?

I do CPOP to make sure the soap gels :) I love the difference it brings in feel to the soap. Natural colors "pop" more or darken more with gel. I still cure the soap for the proper amount of time. Many say it helps cure faster, but honestly, nothing will speed up the gentling that happens...

    Triple milling makes harder soap?

generally the only way to have a hard bar of soap is to not overuse soft oils and butters and to have a long cure to remove any excess water. Most handmade need quite a long cure to be very firm. how long are you curing your soaps before using them? Do you use a water discount? Do you have...

What can I use for transparent labels?

labels by the sheet has inkjet clear labels, too :) just make sureto let them dry completely before touching them. No labels will be 100 %smear perfect without a laser but inkjet waterproof ones DO work well if used properly. They ship first class if you order less than 10 sheets so its worth...

What can I use for transparent labels?

labelsbythesheet.com has wonderful crystal clear laser labels :) I've been using them for years and they are very economical for the home crafter or small time soap seller :) And perfect for those of us with impulse control issues ;) you can get any size you want and buy 1 sheet or a million ;)

Eos that are close to Jasmine and/or Gardenia

Re: floral waxes do survive saponification but you have to figure them into your lye equation... um... lemme try to remember... yes, use the beeswax sap values

Eos that are close to Jasmine and/or Gardenia

Ylang Ylang and Jasmine both have that undertone of earthiness so she might like Ylang Ylang. Ylang Ylang and Rosewood are VERY nice together. Rich and floral and earthy. Geranium is spendy, yes, but a little goes a LONG way in a blend. My current favorite floral soap is approximately 4...

    SLSA

well, i just watched about 20 of the 54 videos, lol... those bars look fun and super easy to make! I do have a question, though, do you neeeed to make them that bog for one bath or will smaller still make enough bubbles? I was thinking of making tons of sees candy size bon bon ones...

Can't seem to make rosemary essential oil work out

rosemary, used very sparingly, is one of my very favorite straight EOs in soap. But you REALLY have to use it with a light hand if you want it to be sweet and herbal instead of pungent and ugh! ;) I don't use more than 1/2 ounce or 3/4 of an ounce in a 2 lb loaf. Have you tried it with that...

    SLSA

thanks for the tip :) I have a starter recipe from another forum so I will go from there and add as necessary. I have never made bombs, just your basic milk and cocoa butter and oil melts with a bit of citric for fizz. Someone mentioned subbing out the citric for SLSA to get a bubbly melt and...

    SLSA

thanks everyone :) I am pretty excited. I am hoping that i can make something similar to the fizzy bath milks from Calgon forever ago. I loved them before I had kids, lol ;) Then I had kids with sensitive skin and my days of Calgon went away just when I needed them most. That and I stuck with...

    SLSA

Hello there :) I have been making soap forever but wanted to experiment with bath melts with SLSA. Does anyone know where to find smaller amounts of it? I don't really want to invest in huge amounts until I know I am going to love it ;) And I really just want to make melts for me and the...

    Shampoo Bar Question

you may also want to try a vinagar rinse. When I was using shampoo bars (just a blend of olive, coconut and castor) I had near waist length average thickness long straight hair. I HAD to use a vinegar rinse or else I couldn't comb my hair out. I have tried bars with jojoba and sunflower and...
