Just in case you haven't heard

Just a heads up in case you use baby food in your soap making, (and of course if you have a baby) it's been found that 95% of 168 baby foods tested have heavy metals in them. I would imagine that could cause a problem. :(...

    Printed wrap

I have seen so many beautifully wrapped soaps. I'd love to find a similar paper. I've scoured the internet with no luck. Does anyone have any idea where this type of wax lined printed paper can be found? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! These are Greenwich Bay Trading Co. soaps...

    In Tins?

I've seen a lot of CP soaps being sold in tins, won't this cause DOS? :smallshrug:

    Mexican blanket soap

I think I'll call this Serape soap. It' 16 layers (I think), wow this took a looong time. White Milk Soaps, here is her video: makes it look so easy. She did 20 layers  You can see where I messed up one layer so I turned it upside down and added some fringe. It's scented with kumquat from BB.

    Dancing Funnel Trials

These are the first two dancing funnel attempts for the August challenge. The first one I tried to imitate a polymer clay technique using M&P. It didn't work out too well, I just couldn't maintain the temp/ consistency of the M&P. (it was worth a shot) The soap: The clay technique (not mine)...

    Roe

I'm a bit confused, if Roe is added to liquid oils to prevent spoiling while stored, do you then add it to your batches too?

    Please,Say It Ain't So

I'm hoping all I need is a bit of reassurance here. I found a few very pale yellowish spots in the blue section of this soap. They are barely visible so I can't post pics. I have never had an issue with DOS, and I hope this isn't the case here. The soap was uncolored and unscented and poured...

    Adding Lye to Hard Oils

I was just wondering if there are any cons to melting your hard oils with your lye solution?

    Neem Oil

Ugh, I ordered some neem oil to try in soap and lotion. I read that it had an unpleasant odor, but OMG I had no idea how unpleasant! It reminds me of burnt machine oil...I think. Are there any recommendations for hiding, no burying that smell? Will any FO cover it or is there something specific...

    Playing with design and color

I have been busy getting some new flooring due to a leaky water heater (what a mess) and have just gotten some time to post pictures of my latest play time. Hope you like them. This really should be illegal! o_O

    Back up Beach Soap

This is the back up soap I poured at the same time as the steam punk, just in case it didn't go so well. I just finished it up and took some pics. I've found a couple of dough recipes I'm going to try, I'll let you know how it goes.:) If I find a good recipe, this could be habit...

    Opium

I was hoping someone may know of a decent Opium type FO. I tried BB's Black Opium and I like it but I was looking for a stronger Oriental scent, like the original Opium. Any suggestions?

    Molds

Just wondering, I've made soap in silicone and paper lined wooden molds. I really like the appearance of the soap from the wooden molds so much better, is that the norm?

    Regular sales?

I see that here is where folks post supplier sales, I was just wondering if any of these companies have seasonal or scheduled sales. I'd rather save up and buy in bulk, the shipping charges are outrageous. I think I spend more time searching for the best prices than I do making soap. :(
