CPLS : Water seperation & Oily residue

Thanks for all the info. I read through Suzies post, it appears to be more of a Countertop Hot Process method. But we all say things differently! Maybe some day I will try it, but my liquid soaps are true hot processed and done in one day, so I am not sure if that would be worth it! Interesting...

CPLS : Water seperation & Oily residue

I think the problem is that you used the cold process method for making liquid soap. I have made many batches of liquid soap, and I have always used the hot process method. I would suggest Jackie Thompsons liquid soapmaking book, or the oldie but goodie, making natural liquid soaps by Catherine...

    Fleas on soap help

You could look into the biolefin option from National Shrinkwrap. It is compostable and biodegradable, AND they send you stickers to put in your booth to help educate about the biolefin film! I really like it (so do my customers!) and have been using it for years...

How long does Optiphen Plus protect your product?

You could send a bottle to a lab to have it challenge tested! That's the only way to know for sure. Make sure to use good manufacturing practices to give your lotion the longest life possible! I wouldn't do it until you have a solid recipe you really like, as it can get pricey. You can also buy...

    A plea for help!

Maybe you could make a healing balm for the horse in case it gets cuts or scrapes :)

    Someone asked

Even before this crazy meth problem exploded, I was nervous to list my address anywhere, because I was afraid some crazed addict would break in and steal my Sodium Hydroxide from me!! It is a good thing you asked some questions.

    Making melt and pour

Transparent soap is more complicated than CP or regular HP, but can be done! There is a recipe in the book The Everything Soapmaking book by Alicia Grosso that is very easy to learn from!

    Hard Vinegar Soap

I am loving this thread! Making soap with vinegar has been in my To-Do notebook for ages, and you are all inspiring me to make something new and exciting!

    Making melt and pour

Are you asking about making transparent soaps from scratch? M&P is an already made base, and you do not need recipes for that. Just your imagination and something to melt it in!

M&P is obviously not my thing :(

I use a large glass pyrex for my chopped M&P and a round cake pan to heat my water in. The pyrex fits in the cake pan with just enough room to allow the water to boil around the sides of the pyrex. I have a single burner I can plug in and use as my heat source, and I also have a Rival fondue pot...

CP Soap Curing time Speed up Possible??

I believe what you are referring to is CPOP soap, soap that is cooked in the oven. A hot processed soap. Hot process soaps often cure a bit faster than cold in my experience. If you are looking for ways to speed up curing, that is, at least the water evaporation part, I would suggest simply...
