    Ebay Suggestions

I found molds on ebay so I could use my free ebay bucks. The estimated time to receive them is February 15 - March 15. So just under one month up to just over two months.

I will search for some additives next! I found a few molds that I ordered. The wait will be long, but man were they cheap!

    Ebay Suggestions

I'm currently going through the many mold options on ebay. This seems like a good way to spend some of my ebay bucks. I also picked up a new thermometer :)

    Ebay Suggestions

I have some ebay bucks to use this month and thought I might as well get some soap making supplies. Does anyone have suggestions of sellers to take a look at? I'm interested in some loaf pans, maybe a cutter, and other basic supplies. Thanks!

I know many people love using lard in their recipes, but there are many wonderful vegan soaps as well. That is the great thing about soap making...there are plenty of options for all of us.

I won't be using either of those in the soaps I make.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I won't be using palm, lard, or tallow in any of my soap recipes. I see the benefit of changing just one thing when working with a recipe. Just as in science, we must be able to say with certainty that the one ingredient created a change in the soap.

I am going to do that for the very reason you mention. :) I grabbed a binder to start organizing all my notes tonight. I'm excited to begin testing soon.

I just saw Irish Lass' tweak to the recipe. I think I'm going to try keeping the olive and rice bran in a recipe. I will make two where the only difference is the rice bran vs more olive.

Thanks for all of the input. I love this forum and everyone's willingness to share what they have learned. Taking many of the things mentioned into consideration I have changed the recipe. Thoughts on the new recipe?

The reason why I selected rice bran was because I had read it was good for dry or mature skin. Avacado was selected because I had read it is good for superfatting. So while they are all oleic fats, it seems as though they do have some different properties. From what I've read jojoba's...

    Newbie Soaper Seeking Recipe Advice

After researching oils, I have started putting together recipes to test in my quest for a base. I'm going to be ordering supplies soon, but wanted to reach out for some advice before beginning to purchase items. I have attached the SoapCalc information for my first test batch. I would...

    Time to Test Recipes

Thanks for the input. The plan is to test the recipes in two pound loaf pans so I can have plenty of bars to test of each base. I want to learn how the recipes change over time when stored. After I see how just these basic recipes behave, I will narrow down which ones I want to tinker with by...
