    My latest soap pics

Thank you all for the positive feedback. I think I like the first two the most as well, has to do with my new "tall skinny" mold. And yes, the watermelon one has poppy seeds.

    My Soaps

Really nice looking soap, well done! Love the "natural" -no-gliterry-mica-used look btw, I really should embrace it myself :-)

    Scent transfer

I have experienced scent transfering as well, to a bigger or smaller degree. Most of the time it is the Spearmint EO (which I use a lot) lending its scent to unscented soap. It goes away after the firt use of the soap bar. With most other scents, keeping the bars away from each other for a...

    Castile soap trace

As long as the oils and the lye are mixed together enough (a.k.a liquid emulsion) and there are no visible streaks of oils in your pot, it is perfectly fine to pour into the mold. IMHO it is a waste of energy and time to try reaching trace in a 100% OO soap. As far as curing is concerned, from...

Certain type of oils causing soda ash ?

For me : fully covered and gelled soap with water discount = rarely (if any) soda ash ever. uncovered, ungelled soap (with or without water discount) = soda ash, less or more. I just steam iron the thing out so no biggie.

    Insomnia Soaping?

Sorry if I sound rude or something but the answer/solution (as to most things in life) is sex.. Lots of great sex was/is the solution to my insomnia problems, go ahead and try that :)

    Amber Honey soap

IMHO (I have not sampled a lot), BBs Wildflower & Honey is a winner for Honey scents. Loads more Honey than Wildflower, combined with a honey-y color pattern (and real honey inside) I get lots of Ahhhhhh and Ohhhhh from my sample testers :)

ISO: Good Coffee and Chocolate FOs

BB Espresso for coffee, BB Dark Ritch Chocolate for choco. Next soap I have planned is a 50-50 blend of those, with lots of raw cocoa powder and brewed coffee grinds. I have a feeling it will turn out smelling pretty nice :)

Letting your customers do the curing - thoughts?

Nobody but me is allowed to use soap I have made before the (minimum) 12 week curing time is over. I know first hand the difference between a 6 week cure and a 12 week cure, and the wait is totally worth it.. Yes, 3 months is a long time to wait but I compensate by making a batch of soap every...
