@Kcryss i too add fragrances etc after cook in my HP because i find fragrance for one stays better. Maybe i too am delusional because it might have to do with the fragrance itself, but having said that after the zap test i feel like every other addition is “safe” from that mean ole lye 😁

Wow he says what i have always thought. My mom has shared many recipes and has had recipes shared with her only to discover that the person never gave her the true recipe. Her words are “why would they do that?” I agree. To share just means more good stuff is going around than bad. 🤷‍♀️

Definitely need a meter for shampoos. I have one it’s pretty decent but calibrating and using it is confusing because it’s many months between uses 😬

Not a problem. I love cast iron but i find it too heavy for me now. Look at Lodge…they are down in the States. They sell cast iron and carbon steel.

@dibbles thanks for introducing me to Royalty Soaps. I am a hot process soaper but i have been trying to find a good instructional video on cold process and Katie nailed it. The only thing she didn’t answer for me is the zap test. Do you not do that for cold process?

I read that if you feel your clothes are getting too coated with detergent all you have to do is run them through the washer with no soap and vinegar added. Even with store laundry detergent if you use too much it will cause a buildup in your clothes.

Yes! I too grew up with the wringer washer and the rinse tub. When i moved out to go to college my landlady had the same setup. I think my eyes popped out of my head when i saw that because by this time my folks had graduated to an automatic and i was back in the “dark ages”. But truth be told...

Do not worry folks…i love my homemade syndet shampoo bars and won’t go back to liquid shampoo in bottles if i can avoid it. I love my conditioner bars too. Took both to Australia last month, and they travel well and no issues with going through the checkpoints. 😁
