    Alternatives to Germall plus

This should help, they are EU based and sell EU approved preservatives: https://www.aromantic.co.uk/home/products/preservatives.aspx I used to use one from OaSN, but she has closed her business and I don't know where to get it from now it was awesome as it worked ina wide range of PH and was...

No More Fighting CO Out of the Jar!

Lol, if anyone wants a bottle of that coconut oil, I can probably send one. Yes, waterbath is the only way to get the coconut oil out of them, I generally melt it and then pour it into an old Margarine tub so it's easier to use for cooking (the soaping oil I just melt and use). The glass is...

    Ostrich Oil Co-Op

How does Ostrich Oil compare to Emu oil? And lots of Parcels are stuck in Chicago, another site where I belong to where we order a lot of things directly from China folks have been complaining that everything through Chicago has been delayed for weeks... they are slowly clearing backlogs now...

    Cupcake Bath Bombs

I haev a question about the topping - I am having major issues finding merengue powder here and dried egg while is an absolute pain to work with. But in the UK we have a sugar for baking that is called "Royal Icing Sugar" - can I just use that???? It is powder sugar mixed with egg white...

Titanium Dioxide - what are your thoughts?

The TD we use in soap is "normal" TD, there is nano-TD available. It is used in sunscreens to avoid the white skin look. But I doubt any of us spends the extra $ to get nano-particle-sized TD and it isn't widely available either. Biggest issue I have with TD, is that it can cause a weird...

No More Fighting CO Out of the Jar!

Here in the UK CO is sold in bottles - glass bottles with a narrow neck, like old fashioned Coca Cola bottles and they have a metal ring on them, that is impossible to remove - I have no idea who thought about selling coconut oil (and Palm oil) like this in a country where the weather is too...

How would you handle this? (Family member)

I would never charge my mum for anything! She (and my dad)has spent thousands bringing me up, allowing me to go to school and sacrificing her own needs to make sure mine are met. And i think she deserves any product she wants of mine! I make some things specifically for her. They are not big...

    Soapandthings.com Jody's Soap & Creations

I have had an email from her which explains the issues, I guess most of you have had it as well? Everything should be fine now and I will definitely give it another try, as she is one of the rare US suppliers that has no problems shipping to the UK and without charging a fortune.

    Just tried my Castile..wow!

Yuck! Castille. ;-) I have some that i made 2 years ago. Still snail slime... but i do live with tap water that's more liquid rock than water. No more Castille for me. Not even soap that has less than 25% coconut oil!

    Clay Masks

why not store the dry mix in a jar and then just mix with water when you need it? That's how I sell mine, as I don't want to have to add preservatives. Mine is just clay, milkpowders, fruit powders and things like honey powder or ground almonds - when you are ready to use it, take out a teaspoon...

Shea Butter and Olive Oil soap/ Shea Butter

our water here is definitely not OO friendly - I made some 100% OO soap 2 years ago and it still feels like snail slime under the shower. Not sure why - I do know that we have very hard water here that isn't just hard from Calcium (funny enough we only have a PH of 7.2), but there are quite...

In search of an organic European soapmaker for retail

Contact me, if you are still interested - I am legally selling soaps in the EU, got all the certificates and insurance. I don't currently make Organic Soaps, but it isn't a problem to switch to organic, if I have a customer that is interested. The only thing I will not do, is get organic...

what preservative do you use for sugar and salt scrubs?

I don't put preservatives in my scrubs either - but that's my decision. If you feel safer with a preservative then go for it. I am neutral here. Thankfully I don't want to go Organic any time soon, so Phenoxyethanol should be fine for me...

    WSPs sale, another hoax?

Thats the only shipping they offered. Tabitha - thanks for the offer - will get back to you, as I am a bit short at the moment (I was just looking and bookmarking), but that sounds like a deal. I know there is no international tracking (unless one wants to pay silly amounts of money), but...
