    Why would this happen? Soap leaking Lye!?

    Two batches of soap I've made are now leaking lye! I suppose it's lye cause there is a zap on the substance. At first I thought it was oils, but after sitting for a month, I zap tested it. This is odd because the second day of coming out of the mold I zap tested it and it was fine - no leaky...

    I *heart* my stick blender!

    Soap crumbled at corner

    I made some soap that looked fine, but when I took it out of the PVC pipe mould, it crumbled at one (bottom) of the ends. It was made with 32 oz of oils consisting of 50% lard, 25% coconut oil and 25% soybean oil which was run through the soapcalc. I know that it is suggested not to insulate...

    Just wondering, what kinds of materials have you more experienced soapers used to produce colors? So far, I've decided to keep things simple for starters and haven't added coloring. I'll use colors later :D

    Aloe in Soap

    Hey all! I am considering adding Aloe to a batch of soap, most of what I found says to add the "juce" in place of some of the water for the lye mixture. Does anyone have experience with using Aloe, if so, would you please pass on some tips? Thanks!! AMC
