    What in the world?

Update? Yeppers. I have poured several more bottles of Lone Star's scented oils. I try them out in Joy Wax, that I know is good. So far, most of the oils have sunk to the bottom. Some are worse than others. I switch over to the NG oils and no sinking. I poured a Snickerdoodle yesterday...

    My first attempt...

Good for you. I don't have the patience for that. Heck, I tried doing tall votives, only to watch them burn too hot. Then figured out I should have dipped the wicks first. Boy, oh boy, do they burn fast. LOL. I'm sticking with containers for now.

    My candles are sucking!

I tested two testers. Gave one a candle with only a bit of scent on top. Gave the other a candle with no scent, just the name on front. They both simply swore by the candles. Yep, sometimes people just want to be nice.

    What in the world?

Grrr...just checked. I have 40 pounds of that wax left. I'll let you know if I ever figure it out. Maybe it's just a bad batch of wax.

    What in the world?

I'm using one ounce to a pound, but they say to use up to 1 1/2 ounce for this blend. Yeah, right.

    What in the world?

I bought fifty pounds of Harmony Blend 4630 Wax from Lone Star. I also bought fifty sample bottles of their scents. I have poured candle after candle using that wax and their oils. More often than not, the finished candle is beautful, except that the oil has settled to the bottom of the...

    Sinking Scents

The worst was Sugar Cookie. That stuff was really dark. Coconut Hisbcus smelled so wonderful, but sank through the white wax. I mix one ounce to a pound, and this wax is supposed to take up to an ounce and a half easy. I stir until I can't see any traces left of the oil, but then it sinks...

    Sinking Scents

I did assume they sold me soap oil, which if I'm correct would probably remain liquid in wax, since soap oil is supposed to mix with water. That sounds right, but they assured me the oils were suitable for candles. Since the samples are only one ounce, I suspect you may be right, and they...

    Sinking Scents

I usually can re-pour. With this current problem, I dump both jars back in, re-melt, then pour again. First jar, the scent sinks. The second jar still has a slight fragrance, but the oil is really in the first jar.

    Sinking Scents

Ok, I'm trying out Lone Star's scents in the Harmony Bled #4630. I bought about 50 of their scent samples. I'm going nuts with this stuff. The wax is beautiful, but I am having big trouble with the scent oils settling to the bottom of the jars after the pour. I followed Lone Star's...

    Weird thing

So I've been pouring some Cargill votive wax. The votives come out of the molds really easy, and they look great. However, then have a strong tendency to crack or break. Ok, no biggy; handle with care. Now the weird thing; so yesterday I poured about eight. Smart guy, me. I poured these into...

Melt and pour glitch, not sticky or tacky, but dry?

Hey, I keep thinking the problem is not that the soap or my skin is sticky or tacky, per se. Maybe excessively dry is the correct term. It's not later after the bath. It's as soon as the soap is rinsed off. Dry, maybe that's the term. Thanks. And no, I don't think I overheated the soap in...

Melt and pour glitch, not sticky or tacky, but dry?

I did microwave. I thought I did it just long enough to melt the base. I'll look at that part again.

Melt and pour glitch, not sticky or tacky, but dry?

I did microwave it, until it melted. Maybe I'd better look at that more carefully. Actually, I'll try it in the soap kettle and see if that makes a difference.

Melt and pour glitch, not sticky or tacky, but dry?

Not a melt and pour...that sounded funny after I thought about it. Sounds like you're not a romantic.

Melt and pour glitch, not sticky or tacky, but dry?

Oh, no. Don't even tell me that. Nature's Garden. Awh, dang, did I get junk? I've had no complaints with their candle waxes or scents.

Melt and pour glitch, not sticky or tacky, but dry?

It'd better not be bad soap base. I have 26 pounds of base, 13 different kinds from NG. I just tried the Mango in the shower, same problem. So then I had to wash with the liquid soap. Soap dish, ok, dry it out. ok, not a problem. But it's when I bathe with it. That's when I feel dry...

Huh? I just joined. Am I something else?

Melt and pour glitch, not sticky or tacky, but dry?

I bought several sample blocks of melt and pour from a good supplier. I melt the base and pour in mold. I've tried it with scents and coloring, and I've tried it just the base. Problem is that although the soaps really look great, when I test the soaps at home, I am disgusted. Yes, most...
