My soaps are 100% KOH, so are Silly Putty consistency months later. I don't think I added enough FOs at the end of my hot processes? My experimentation's have been 3 grams of FOs per 4 ounces of soap. That's a little over 2%. I went low not knowing what the result might be. The results...

I've read that lanolin does not saponify? Yet, SoapCalc has the option to add lanolin oil to the formula. My question is, if lanolin in taking up a "%" of the calculation, but does not saponify, will that leave a lye heavy result?

In my hot process shaving soap with high stearic acid, I'm eager to use the stick blender but get instant lumps, sometimes much more dense than mashed potatoes. Should I hold off awhile and stir? Not use the blender at all?

I have the 2lb bottle of KOH from Essential Depot, but I don't know if it's 90% or not. Wondering if I should check the 90% KOH box in Soapcalc? I'm looking at two different shaving soap recipes where one is checking the 90% and the other isn't. If my Essential Depot is not what I assumed...

I made my first soap this weekend! A Hot process shaving soap and portioned it out 2oz in a dozen Glad 4oz containers. I did this so I could pour a whole tester vial of FO into each and blend it in. My question is, do I leave the containers uncovered for awhile, or put the tops on right away?

I know lanolin is supposed to look semi-solid, like Vaseline, but what I've found is lanolin oil. Label says 100% lanolin? Can that be used in soap? I plan to make a hot process shaving soap. Thanks,
