    HP Homemade Pears Soap bar

@KiwiMoose Thyme Essential Oil thread. That was from a few years ago. Camden Grey's Thyme EO Page has some info too.

What soapy thing have you done today?

That recipe is fine. In my case, I'd swap up another oil for sweet almond because I can't use that with my daughter.

What soapy thing have you done today?

Belated Birthday, @Zing . I only made two batches this year but I didn't make mistakes this time. I have had a horrible almost 5 years regarding soap making so I'm glad to finally be able to make something safely, let alone reading a recipe without misreading anything. I did have a scare when my...

My first CP project, I think I totally messed it up, what to expect?

I guess I'm one of the few knuckleheads that just dove in and, used SoapCalc.net and made soap that way. @akseattle Coconut EO does not exist. You have to use and FO BUT you are not quite ready for that adventure. Coconut FOs can accelerate and heat up your soaps, sometimes leaving you with a...

Ugly soaps: how to improve ?

The only thing I will tell you is that soap #3 might be a little more cleansing than you would like, if it was palm kernel oil that you used and not palm. All look fine otherwise and should be fine after curing. Keep in mind for the future that vanilla and coconut scents tend to discolor soap...

Does Looking at M&P that you separated a few weeks ago count?

Adding honey to liquid soap beginning or end?

You would want the honey to be added to the liquid used to make the soap. adding it to dilution will encourage microbe growth, especially if you're not using a preservative or two.

    Rebatching in a Crockpot

I'm going to second this because ceramic can etch and once it does, an FO has more opportunity to linger. That ceramic is only a layer and the stoneware underneath it is more porous.

    Haunted by lard/tallow

I stated that quite some time ago. As things are now, I don't really make lard soap, even with coffee. I also cannot afford to get oakmoss EO so I can't really test that theory out.

    Fragrance dupe

This is a month later and I don't know if you're active but I am unfortunately not aware of that scent. You could rummage through maybe Brambleberry, Nurture, or Nature's Garden to see if you can find something.

Karma (Lush Type) FO - Patchouli haters read this.

I could be just that formulation. Maybe stick to your recipe?

    I love cavity molds!

Agreed. But I always restrain myself on all those sites... My videogame habit sees to that. 👉👈

Wow, your hubby's a winner. I also agree with Relle- keep up with the crochet..

    100% beef tallow soap

It couldn't hurt to make an 100% tallow soap like you normally do. Just keep the batch small. This could also be a learning point for the farm owners as well.

    Oh No!

Maybe some of the ingredients in those FOs can no longer be produced and or used? It happens all the time and is part of why FO's may get reformulated or discontinued. Since Brambleberry is likely a middleman for FO distrubution and not a straight manufacturer, it's really not fair to hold them...

    Soap scent could attract mosquitoes

I'm an O positive and mosquitoes love them some me. But my daughter has the same blood type and they leave her alone. I still don't get it.

Titanium Dioxide makes MP soap last longer?

That sounds very weird. Are there more ingredients in the white soaps or something? 🤔

I failed my soap twice in 2 days

That's how a lot of people will do it if they want to make soap. Cardboard boxes, milk containers, yogurt cups, and so forth can make for great soap molds until you can afford one but a wooden box lined with freezer paper is also good too, if you have.

I failed my soap twice in 2 days

May I ask if the mold you used to pour your soap in was metal?
