Emulsified body butter, but no water.

I was wondering if it was the water in oil method? Or maybe the other way around lol. I've purchased it too, and it really doesn't feel like anything revolutionary. It is good, but...feels like an emulsified body butter :smallshrug:

Emulsified body butter, but no water.

I know this is an older post, but hopefully you'll see this! I have seen this same body butter and have been racking my brain trying to figure out how water is FIFTH on the ingredient list! How does that work?! There's a very interesting making of video on the listings too. I swear it looks like...

    Soap Cutters

I'm looking to buy a nice soap cutter. I wanna go with a Bud H cutter, but I can't decide between single bar cutter or 12 bar cutter. I mean, what's the difference (besides the obvious)? Is there any difference in cutting single bars one by one or cutting them all at once?? Just want some...

    Vit E in lip balm

Nope... Ingredients: Tocopheryl Acetate I got it at whole foods. I really wanted to use something I could find in store/locally instead of paying shipping and then waiting for it. Any other ideas??

    Vit E in lip balm

I have a lip balm recipe that calls for "5 drops of 100% Pure Vitamin E Oil" and that whole batch makes 10 tubes. So I just bout some Nature's Gate Vitamin E Acetate Skin Oil 32,000 I.U. Now it does say "do not use on face or eye area; for external use only". That should answer my question...

    Black Raspberry Vanilla

Used BRV from Nurture Soaps. In LOVE with the smell!! Worked very nice in the soap as well. First time attempting a tiger stripe also (I think that's what you'd call this?). I cut it with a knife, and it ended up dragging pretty bad, so the colors were a little muddy Definitely needed a wire...

Very nice! Can I ask where that fragrance is from? I recently got black raspberry vanilla from Nurture Soaps...wondering how it acts in CP!

    Discoloring fragrances

I have a couple of Discoloring FO, Turkish Mocha, Burnt Sugar, Pumpkin Spice. If I split a batch of soap, add the FO to one and then do a drop swirl, will it discolor to look like a true drop swirl?? Hoping that description makes sense! I can see it in my head, but I'm not sure if it will come...

If I wanted tiny bubbles, I would have cracked open a bottle of champagne!

Was it sticky on top? I just did my first CPOP the other day, but I think mine overheated a little too cause of the bubbles on top. But I also noticed the top feels "sticky". Like it's softer than the rest.

What soapy thing have you done today?

My first attempt at CPOP. Sitting on my kitchen floor, looking through my little oven window like

Mixing lye and oil at room temperature

Potentially really stupid question, but whatever! Even though the oils and lye are room temp, they're still going to heat up when emulsified and still go through gel phase...right? Like, could you still force gel with oven process using room temp oils and lye or would heating it up cause a...

What's your favorite soapmaking video on Youtube?

Oh gosh, I have spent literally hours on youtube chasing one video after another after simply typing in "making, soap, cold process" in different orders lol. I binge watched Soaping 101 one night haha. Love Soap Queen and Royalty Soaps. Just recently stumbled upon Kevin Devine. Some of his...

    Recipe too soft??

Thank y'all for the input! I have a lot to learn about the specific oils and their acids. I know I can find a lot of information on here, and online in general but...any recommendations for books? Or something where all the info is consolidated into one place haha!

    Recipe too soft??

    Here is a recipe I tried a few days ago: 17.5% Olive Oil = 5.95 oz 15% Coconut = 5.10 oz 12.5% Avocado = 4.25 oz 20% Sunflower = 6.80 oz 25% Rice Bran = 8.50 oz 10% Cocoa Butter = 3.4 oz Lye: 4.60 oz Water: 11.22 oz Superfatted by 3% I used Bramble Berry's Lye Calculator; haven't...

Pros and cons of using cheese cutters

Just started using a cheese cutter too! Soap definitely slides around, but what I found even more annoying is that the wire wouldn't go down all the way. So I would either have to pull the soap straight up, or use a knife to finish which would leave sort of a bigger bottom look...don't know if...
