    M&p preference

I know you said you don't want to buy a bunch of different bases but I know BB and at least one other site has sample packs you can buy that way you get a small amount of different types and see what works best for you and your family.

    Storing M&P's

I'm quoting what I've read on here before you want to keep it wrapped tightly and store it in a cool dry place. Keeping it wrapped tightly helps keep it from drying or absorbing extra moisture.

    Finally used Christmas gift

Yes it is. It's the first one that I have used and I love it. I don't have to put petroleum jelly like I do with the plastic ones. I think it was $3 and some change before taxes at Walmart.

    Coloring

I've read that you can use some herbs but you have the potential of DOS and I think it might even turn brown. Hopefully someone with more experience will put their 2 cents in soon.

    Finally used Christmas gift

For Christmas my wife got me the M&P sampler kit from BB. I just made a bar with the Shea and one with the honey. I'm in love with this base. Thank you to everyone that recommended getting base from there instead of the local hobby stores.

    Beginners tips

For my molds I use petroleum jelly. I rub it on the molds that way it's easier to unmold the soap once it hardens.

I think I got it! Yay!

I don't know if you can use the plastic molds that are used for m&p but the one I bought at hobby lobby was 2 or 3 dollars.

    How to calc.

At my work when we convert to grams it's 453.6grams to a pound so .97oz= 0.060625#. 453.6*.060625=27.4995Grams we would round that to 27.5grams.
