    Smaller Tall and Skinny Mold?

General consensus is length wise 6" or 8" would be best. I showed the manufacturer the American Soap mold, and told him I basically want that but shorter. I told him that a thick lip around along with side ribs for reinforcing to prevent bowing is necessary. Hopefully this gives him a good idea...

    Smaller Tall and Skinny Mold?

Snappyllama mentioned that she would love it if American Soap Supplies came up with a smaller T&S mold and I agree. I contacted a local custom injection mold supplier and are discussing the possibility of having them make a smaller one for hobbyist and doing a large group/prebuy. I'm waiting on...

American Soap Supplies Sale 25% Off All Molds

I agree. I use a 36oz recipe and fill it up to around 3.5" and haven't had any issues. The first time I used it, I tried 40 or 42ozs and that did have slight bowing but nothing compared to my WSP mold. I also have a 9 bar slab mold from workshop heritage. My CC had a special for 15% cash...

American Soap Supplies Sale 25% Off All Molds

OMG! I would be in love if they had a smaller one. The mold is a bit big for a hobbyist but I just love the dimensions of this mold that I just end up with more soap than necessary. It would be perfect if it was like 8" or even 6".

American Soap Supplies Sale 25% Off All Molds

If you are looking for a tall and skinny mold that doesn't require lining, and minimal bowing, this is the mold for you. I've tried WSP's and it bowed even with cardboard supports on the side. Most reviews on BB's is that there is significant bowing. I haven't had any bowing issues with...

American Soap Supplies Sale 25% Off All Molds

The struggle is real!! I've been super good the past few months since I haven't been as active on the forum and didn't see all the recent sale posts. My BF is gonna be giving me that look when he sees this package come in......"I thought you said you were done after all those end of year sales!"...

There's a tall and skinny prebuy going on FB right now. Thought it might help some soapers out! She's reached the minimum requirement but you can still add on your order. "Official Pre-Buy- Tall Skinny Mold--- $10 each Have to get 300 orders before I can order. I have thought and thought about...

    Soap Cutters

I have a metal cutter from Bud and a single wire and slab cutter from Workshop Heritage. My metal cutter is amazing and Bud is great to work with. You can even request custom colors for an additional fee. I think the type of cutter really depends on your preference. I love the time saving of...

Cheapest place to purchase set of herbs?

Depending on where you are located, I have found Monterey Bay Spice Co to be the best prices per lb for me. I think their oz prices are quite reasonable also. I have everything from lavender to horsetail from there. I did find their henna powders to be less fine than I would expect for a powder...

    Thank you, TVivian

What if bubbles aren't a factor at all? Would you throw the rest into OO or sub in a whole different oil? The highest I've gone for OO is 40% from Genny's shampoo bar recipe which I really love for a body bar, but this recipe has got me quite curious to go higher.

    Fragrance Buddy FO test

MP embeds. When I first started soaping, I really wanted to use all CP embeds but I realized it's just too time consuming. And I like how if I get the random urge to make a soap extra pretty, it only takes like 30 minutes to make a bunch of embeds.

    Thank you, TVivian

What would you guys suggest subbing in if I wanted to drop the coconut by 5 or 10% on the recipe?

    Fragrance Buddy FO test

I read there was some acceleration with Sea Witch but I really didn't notice it with my salt bars. I even tried to do a clyde slide kinda swirl into a 9 bar slab mold and got decent mica swirls on top. I haven't decided on calling it Mermaid's Treasure or King Triton's Gold. I didn't do very...

    Fragrance Buddy FO test

I just did sea witch in a CP salt bar batch over xmas. I really like the scent so far. Probably one of my favorite oceany scents. I always like to "marinate" my sea salt with the fragrance oil before I use it in hopes that it will help the scent stick. I have Burgandy Rose from NG which I...

Silicone mlods that do not bow out?

Thanks Dixie for the tip! I just got my first slab molds and lining was such a pain. I generally use silicone molds so this whole lining a mold business was not for me. I think it took me over 30 minutes to do my first one. Def. hoping that BB has a silicone mold sale soon so I can just pick up...

Wholesale Supplies Plus Sale - what time does it start?

So I placed my order probably around 12:30 EST. It was close to $200. I just got an email from WSP that my order finally shipped but of course they ran out of the ONE FO that I wanted a lb of. I love their Pink Berry Mimosa! Sigh. I guess I'll suck it up and pay full price once it's back.

    Vanilla Test Project

Now I'm hoping MO has a sale soon so I can grab Vanilla Milk. I swore to myself no more FO's since I stocked up from all the recent sales but man...........I REALLY WANT IT. I've been eyeing it forever now but haven't tried any FO's from MO just yet.

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

If I remember correctly, I read in another thread that even the ACV rinse won't really correct the PH. You are still doing damage to the hair follicle.

    Shampoo Bar - Thanks Lindy!!

I've been using a variation of this recipe since February. So far, my hair has been a lot better. I find that I am losing less hair in the shower and in my brush. I infuse my olive oil with a bunch of different herbs. I like babassu better than coconut for my cleansing factor in this bar. I...
