Would it be possible to make nutella soap

I've tried melt and pour with some different additives, but I've never tried with anything the consistency of nutella. Want to try to make it for a friend. Any advice? Theoretically, it seems like it wouldn't turn out that great :-(

    Confession. I'm a cutter

Cheesy, buy a great idea. I love it.

    Confession. I'm a cutter

That's wayyyyy too simple. I like it!

    Confession. I'm a cutter

But not a very good one. An imperfectly cut rectangular bar of soap has a bit of charm to it. Makes it look, I guess 'rustic' but I want to make some circle soaps from a tube mold and want them to be sliced pretty clean and uniform. Is there any way to do this without buying one of those crazy...

determining colorants, fragrance amounts when formaulating own recipe?

Thank you. That's actually a lot more helpful than stuff I've read on twenty different sites combined!

determining colorants, fragrance amounts when formaulating own recipe?

Is there a good rule of thumb or a great internet site for showing how to calculate how much colorant or fragrance to use in soap? The fragrance calc on brableberry is great, but it is limited to about a third of the oils that they sell. I don't know how to gauge oils that are not listed on...

What does SF mean in a recipe?

I get it now. Seems so obvious. Since I only do cold process, I don't know much about superfatting. So it means she adds castor and wheat germ as 5% of her oils as a safeguard to cover the lye amount?

How to turn herbs into powder

Sometimes old school is the best way. I'll give it a shot with mortar and pestle.

How to turn herbs into powder

I have a bunch of nettle leaf and though I'm able to grind it pretty well in a coffee grinder, I'm wondering if there's a way to turn it to powder. Or, in general, to turn any herbs into powder to use as colorants/additives.

What does SF mean in a recipe?

This is probably obvious, but I am new. I found some soaps that interest me and the lady lists her ingredients online. She abbreviates everything. I get that FO is fragrance oil and EO is essential oil. What is SF though? If she's using castor oil as part of the recipe, why not list it under...

    Looking for box templates

I've found a good box template on soaping101 @ http://www.soaping101.com/templates.html However, its not set up in a way that you can print the template out on a piece of paper and then make your box. I have had trouble finding another template online. There is one on brambleberry, but the...

Soap doesn't seem fully cured in the center

'Gooey' is better term than 'Goo'. the outside is firm, but i could probably push a finger through the inside without much effort. I appreciate the comments on partial gel. I am just learning about gel phase and don't know anything about partial gel... why it happens or how to prevent it. This...

Soap doesn't seem fully cured in the center

I made a pretty basic tallow/olive oil/coconut oil soap that I was really happy with, especially with the hardness of the bar. I tried then making the same recipe, but substituted some green tea for the distilled water. Below is a picture after one month of cure. You can see the outside has...

CP soap came out sticky and tacky. What may be the culprit?

I attempted a charcoal bar, but after three days of curing these bars are still not hard enough to pull out of their molds. They're kind of tacky and while I can pick them up and hold them, if I apply any pressure they would mush. Is my batch dead?

    Mugwort soap?

I have been hunting online but cannot find a mugwort soap recipe. I am still pretty new to soapmaking and don't know how to formulate my own recipe yet. Would I just use a basic 3 or 4 oil soap recipe and add however much mugwort 'feels' right? I don't know any other way, really. Or to mimic a...

When to use alcohol during CP?

So far, I only use alcohol twice during CP. While making soap, I usually drink a bottle of Stella Artois. That's the first.:shh: Then after pouring my soap, I spritz the top with 99% isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle. My question is... are there any other times I should spray alcohol? and...

    Molds for a buck!

Don't expect to use it more than once, but it works as a one-off w/ cold process. The package is kind of slanted, so don't expect a level triangle.

What to do after letting CP firm up after pouring?

Hey, I learned a lot. Yes, I care nothing about gel. I don't need bright colors. So, I proabably should have stuck this sucker in the fridge. When you put it in the fridge, do you typically still cover it?

What to do after letting CP firm up after pouring?

oils used were: Shea Olive oil coconut oil palm oil Avocado oil Sweet Almond Oil Strawberry fragrance Pink clay After pouring, i let sit for 10 minutes. applied seran wrap. let it sit out overnight, wrapped in a towel.
