    Brambleberry scents for bath bombs?

I can't get Tobacco Bay Leaf, but I might try the Sandalwood Vanilla one. I do have a sample of Salty Mariner and Bonsai but he didn't seem a fan of them:( I might have to combine them with something... I love Vetyver! I made some soap with it some time ago, and so far it's been my favourite...

    Brambleberry scents for bath bombs?

My boyfriend loves Lush bathbombs...and I really wanted to surprise him with a few when he's coming home again in a few weeks (right now he lives pretty isolated in this tiny garden cottage in nowheresville as he's finishing his graduation project). Howeverrrrrrr Lush is expensive, even more...

Arg!!!!! I hate EO and FO in CP Soap!

And how did it ruin your soap? Do you not like the smell? Did it make your batch seize? etc. etc.

Two Wild Hares Bubble Bar Recipe: thoughts?

I think you probably need a silicone cupcake mold if you want it to come out cupcake shaped. Let us know how it went! And buckscent, than you for sharing your experience, I feel more confident trying out the bathbomb recipe now.

Two Wild Hares Bubble Bar Recipe: thoughts?

No, sorry I haven't bought it yet. I've had too many other hobbies vying for my attention and leaving me broke ;) I might get the bath bomb recipe first, at some point, just to see how she handles things and if that gives me some confidence in her ways, I'll probaly just go ahead and get the...

    Europe: (more) environmentally friendly sparkles/flakes?

Oh, I never even knew that was a thing!! I might try those out then. Sadly the shipping from nurturesoap is a bit outrageous if you're outside the US :( I really want to try their glow in the dark pigment one day. But it seems there are a few UK shops that sell biodegradable glitter, so I'll...

    Europe: (more) environmentally friendly sparkles/flakes?

I would love to add shimmery flakes/sparkles to my bath bombs/melts etc, as an extra visual treat and to add sparkle to my baths, but I don't really want to dump a teaspoon of plastic down the drain each time I take a bath... So I'm looking for a (slightly better) alternative to plastic...

    Christmas 2017

Yes. I've been waiting for this thread. THIS YEAR I SHALL SUCCEED (the more caps I use the better the chance, right?). As a hobbyist, I think a good approach would be to craft/make something every month. That way, if you fail later on in the year, you still have *somethig* from previous...

What soapy thing have you done today?

I was getting all pumped up to get some brambleberry loaf molds (the 10 inch and the tall one) from a webshop here as they were on sale 10-20 euro off (they are otherwise very expensive here 24 and 42 euro).. I thought the sale would be until January 1st, but it wasn't :( I might still get...

DIY no rinse body wash brainstorm

Those were my thoughts too :) I have to wait until after December so I can order some proper bottles to store my formulations in, but I'll keep updating this thread until I find something that works. While I wasn't really looking for shampoo alternatives, after some research, I don't have a lot...

    Christmas 2016

I will just start planning for next year...now ;) I have the FOs, so if I make the soaps within the first half of the year, they will have a nice long cure. And in the mean time I can gather yarn for knitted wash cloths or something else, experiment with lipbalm ingredients, learn how to...

DIY no rinse body wash brainstorm

Oh I see, in that case I'll just stick to cocamidopropyl betaine, saves me the headache of figuring out percentages for a mix;) I just made a small test batch, starting with the following (off the top of my head, note book's not nearby): 1% cocamidopropyl betaine 1% peg-7 glyceryl cocoate 2%...

DIY no rinse body wash brainstorm

Sorry for the confusion! For no rinse I meant more like "does not need copious amounts of water to rinse off". So you could still use a wet washcloth and/or a basin etc. (so, yes, think camping with little access to water ;) ). But I don't want the product to be so concentrated that it take ages...

DIY no rinse body wash brainstorm

For traveling I'd like to formulate (as a hobbyist) a no rinse body wash for those times I don't have access to a shower but still want to feel clean. I've found the ingredients of at least one commercial product: Deionized Water, Triethanolamine Lauryl Sulfate, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl...

    Christmas 2016

Alright, you two have convinced me. I think I'll do a mix of the old soaps and the new soaps I did/do manage to make. Especially now. back story time: I live in a house that will get demolished around the end of February. I had some trouble finding a new place and stuff was getting stressful...

    Christmas 2016

I've given up. I'll do it next year;) I wonder how bad it is if I hand out last year's christmas soaps... as I still have loads of those.

    Christmas 2016

I still have three soaps to go... I'll have to label them again this year: do not open until [2 months after I've let these cure]. I really need to get better at planning stuff. Maybe start making christmas soaps half a year before the fact. It'll give them enough time to cure at least ;)

    First-Wash Phenomenon

Same. My soaps usually have this super rich creamy lather.. but during the first wash, they have this big watery bubble thing going on. I just figured they have stage fright at first ;)
