SMF December Challenge- high and low water batch

Thanks! Iwill check the list and add my experiences, I have FOs from Gracefruit (this one has some info withbthe description) and Sensory Perfection. If I'm really worried I just use lavender, orange, lemon or peppermint EO, those are always safe :)

Does anyone else feel addicted to soap making?

It way too addictive! I used to only make lotions and stuff, but ever since i started making soap, lotions just dont seem as fun anymore. With soap you have recipes, fragrances, colors, swirls, techniques... It feelsna lot more crafty and artsy :)

    Hanger swirl tool

OK, I know most of you use something called "gear ties" when doing a hanger swirl. I could not find those where I live. So, If you have a similar problem, read on :) I didn't want to use regular hanger, because it is very thin, and I'd have to wrap it in something to make it thicker. My dad...

What soapy thing have you done today?

My biggest batch ever - almost 10 lbs. I made two logs, two colors each, one lavender, one peppermint scented. No soap demons at my house today, the batter stayed nice and fluid :) The logs are in the oven now, hopefully I can cut late in the evening!

Is It possible to maintain thin traced soap in a 7+ lb mold?

I normally make 5 lbs batch, will probably make a doubble (ie 10 lbs) soon. I use castor free recipe, no sugars added, i soap at room temperature, no accelerating FOs. SB in very very short intervals (and very few of them too), mix by hand with a whisk. It can be done.

Peppermint EO in foot cream/EU Regulations

Scott is good price for a package deals, but they are rather strict when it comes to essential oils. Naturally thinking is better option for lotions. Tisserand says 5,4% is the max concentration. Package safety assessors usually only alow 1% even when that is not max safe level. Is is easier...

How (not) to make Christmas Tree soap!

I'm going out for a craft fair now, when I get back in the evening, I can write some ideas.

Peppermint EO in foot cream/EU Regulations

Tisserand: Essential oil safety, 2nd ed. You have all the EOs in there with maximum allowed concentrations (IFRA, EU). I think if you google the toppic, you will find some answers. Cat check the book at the moment, will do later. If you arw going to have your cream safety assessed, your assessor...

How (not) to make Christmas Tree soap!

Wow, you really put a lot of effort in this, didn't you? It looks nice and interesting. If I decided to ever make christmas tree soap, i would just make embedds from silicone mold :). Oh, for the ornaments, what about just stamping them on the surface of finished bars? With some mica they can...

Not soap - I made bath&body products. Bath bombs, bubble bath cupcakes, massage bars and emulsified sugar scrubs.

    Lotion is a pain

Oh, I wasn't very clear about the percentages used. I use it about 0,5%, this doesn't really make may lotion thicker (like 4% of cetyl alcohol ar stearic acid does) or slimier (like A LOT of xanthan can do) but it just keeps sensitive emulsion from separating. The skin feel is still the same...

    Potica

And a recipe, if you wish to try: http://www.slovenia.info/en/Dishes-and-Recipes/Tarragon-potica.htm?recepti=9849&lng=2 My mom usually make one with poppy seed filling, my mother-in-law makes the best tarragon potica ever! Or a coconut one, although this is not a traditional one.
