What do you do for work?

Hey, Norai, I'm a library clerk too. I worked in a large public library for 20 years. Then I decided to leave the city for the country and I now work in a college library.

    Calendula Petas

Calendula comes in a range of colours from deep orange to pale yellow, double and single petals. I grow and use the whole range in my soaps and healing calendula cream. If you are interested go to this site and click on seeds then calendula. They have three choices there with some...

What kind of mood are you in today?

WOW! Those are beautiful soaps. I really love the mood idea for scents and naming. My mood is "despondant" right now. It snowed again last night......sigh. Will Spring ever come? It's so difficul for a Gardener not to be in the garden.

Anyone purchased from Soap & more in Calgary?

Here is a link to a BC company that has some nice natural colourants: www.essencesupply.com I'm quite sure that Voyageur doesn't charge a handling fee. I use them all the time too. Shipping from the US with Fedex would cost more than $18.00 because of the high customs brokerage fees...

Patchouli + Citrus EO..... need ratio advice

Actually, looking at it I see my math isn't very good. It never was (sigh). That ratio is actually 8:1 but it should still work.

Patchouli + Citrus EO..... need ratio advice

Yes, it does. The citrus fades and the patchouli holds. You have to wait about three weeks for everything to meld, but then it smells yummy. Keep me posted and let me how it turns out for you :)

Anyone purchased from Soap & more in Calgary?

Where do you live Naturliche? I have used Soap & More from time to time and found their S&H to be quite reasonable. I haven't used them for awhile. I only use them for items I can't find anywhere else because they are a little pricey. But they do have some cool looking resins I would like to...

Patchouli + Citrus EO..... need ratio advice

I use approx 1.5 oz. ppo in all of my soaps. It may vary a bit depending on the EO's. So for 100 oz. of oils, I use 9 oz. of EO. For a citrus patchouli blend that would be: Orange - 5oz. Lemon - 3 oz. Patchouli - 1...

Patchouli + Citrus EO..... need ratio advice

Patchouli is a base note and citrus is a top note so you would use more citrus than patchouli. I use a ratio of 3:1 when I blend orange or lemon eo's with patchouli. The scent of grapefruit is not very strong so that would be 4:1. If I use a mix of citrus eo's then it's 3:1 with patchouli. HTH

    soap pot today or recently?

I made a batch of Mint N Moss on the weekend. It's scented with mints and contains Irish Moss. Not a very pretty colour but folks like the scent and it sells well. Also made a test batch coloured with Madder root powder and scented with Palmerosa, Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang and Lavender...
