    Containers for Lotion Bars

How does everyone package their lotion Bars? Where do you get your supplies? I was looking for a small tin, because I thought it would protect the bar better and make it more transportable. But, if anyone has other suggestions, let me know please. Thanks so much! Stephanie

    Whipped Body Butter

I just made a body butter, but it is firmer than many of the ones I have purchased. I remelted it and added a bit more oil, but it is still pretty firm. Do I need to whip it longer? It has about a 60:40 ratio of butters to oils. Thanks!

    Herbal Infused Butters/Oils

Thank you. I just started infusing some vanilla beans in jojoba oil. The frankincense, sandalwood, and myrrh sound really interesting. I think I'll try that next.

    Herbal Infused Butters/Oils

Hello, I was hoping you could tell me where you like to purchase your lotion bar molds. I also have a few other questions, if you want to share: Do you find that people enjoy the small lotion bars (like a candy mold or ice cube size- or bigger ones). Do you sell them in a tin...

    Tempuring butters

Hi again, I have read about tempering shea and cocoa butter to avoid graininess in the finished product. My question is: Can I temper a couple pounds of butter, let it cool and store it in a container until I'm ready to use it for lip balm, lotion, etc. Basically, can I do this longer...

Hi all, I would like to start tempering my butters to prevent grittiness in my lip balms. I am wondering if anyone could recommend a thermometer that they really like. They vary in price so much! Also, how do you temper your cocoa or shea butter? I usually just use a glass, measuring...

    Gritty Lip Balm

Hi again, I have been making a few lip balms using cocoa butter and shea butter and most of the recipes have turned out great. But a few have ended in a gritty balm. I have heard that I should heat the cocoa and shea butters gradually and slowly (over 40 minutes), but I've also heard...

    Honey and lanolin

Do you have any suggestions for a natural preservative that I should use? I've heard that vitamin E can be used, but would a stronger one be needed in this case? I'm trying to make everything as natural as possible, but I don't want any mold, etc. Thanks!!
