Two base oils that are dirt cheap at the supermarket

I have a recipe that does use soybean oil and just saying it makes the best soap. This recipe has a lot of different oils so not a huge amount of the soybean.

I wish you could put all the entries together for us to all look at, I would try to go find them all but this forum loads so slow I don't have time on my lunch hour. Maybe it's me, I don't know.

Newbie + Milk in cp soap question

All I use is goat milk, frozen in ice cube trays, only had it turn orange one time. This is from last weekend, aside from a little soda ash and unmolding it too soon, I am pleased with it.

    Goat milk soap

Goat milk soap is all I make, I freeze it in ice cube trays then when measuring out my liquid called for I just pop out how many cubes of frozen milk it takes to make up the amount minus a little that I add just liquid milk so I have some liquid when I start, very little liquid as the milk melts...

Fragrance usage above 6% -not enough scent

What suppliers have you found that have the stronger scents? I have the same problem with my soaps having very little scent by the time the cure is complete. I doubled up last couple times and the scent is great but I am worried about the skin irritation, I don't react to it but I don't have...

Thanks Dixie, I may just have to get a small amount and give it a try anyway. Earlene, that is awesome soap! Do you get colored bubbles with that much color?

    It's Time for

Do they work good for goat milk soap? I have one that seems like it starts out a pretty purple or something and ends up ugly brown. If they stayed even close to the color they start with I would LOVE to get some. I don't know enough about how they react to order any, so advice is appreciated!

Small Soaps Keep Volcanoing! Please Help!

Have you tried putting them in the freezer after you pour them? Maybe you could try a recipe without a lot of heat creating elements like honey. Honey or sugars is one thing that will heat up a soap batter.

Are these goats milk bars scorched beyond use?

I have never tried that method with goat milk. I just freeze the amount of milk in need in ice cube trays saving enough for a little liquid milk to start mixing in the lye. I usually have a sink with some ice water in it to put my bowl of milk cubes in as I mix, this way it stays nice and cool...

    Fitbit

I have one and I love it, going on three years, I love to do the weekly and day challenges. I set my goals and when you reach each goal your dash board icon for that goal turns green so I try to get them all everyday, I have my goals set high so I usually don't reach them all everyday but it...

Why does 80 lard, 20 coconut soap feel so good on my skin?

I don't think animal fat is bad, the bad fat has been chemically changed or modified which makes it difficult for our bodies to breakdown. Take butter, maybe not the healthiest thing on the planet but a HECK of a lot better than margarine, which is now known to cause cardiovascular disease. In...

    Salt Soap Question

Oh good! We don't have a water softener so our salt contribution shouldn't be an issue. Glad I don't have to give up my salt bars. Thanks everyone!

    Salt Soap Question

I made one batch of salt soap and I LOVE it, my question is for people on septic systems, do you worry about putting all that salt into the environment via septic systems, and how does the salt affect a system. I know to kill weeds we use vinegar and salt, most plants don't do well in a salty...

    Shaving Soap, help please

I am sorry I was cranky, being overworked at the moment, I have a few minutes in the mornings to spend on the computer, my little farm is in high gear with kidding and I work a full time job, commute two hours a day and still milk and feed everyone twice a day. With his birthday coming up I...

    Shaving Soap, help please

Ok, that wasn't a recipe, that was just an example of something I could actually follow. So maybe I came to the wrong place, I thought people came here to help each other learn. I have never used both kinds of lye, not sure how to do that, I can see I am over my head and maybe I best just find...

    Shaving Soap, help please

I have been going over all the shaving soap threads trying to find a recipe and I see some ingredients but for the life of me can't really find a recipe. If I do then I usually don't have something listed and as new to this hobby I don't feel comfortable winging it. I have most of the basic...

Has anyone else read this article?

So I don't trust the guy writing about this, do we know did they test oil already repackaged or straight out of the bottle it came from with ED? Just wondering if the guy repackaging it actually cut it with something else to make more profit. Then to cover his rear he is attacking ED. I don't...
