    Making soap indoors

Hey everyone, So my significant other has bad asthma and the fragrance oils really flair it up. We have a second bedroom in our new place that I dedicated to soap making, hoping the scent would stay contained but it still lingered through the apartment. The room has 1 central AC vent, a...

    Water Jacketed Soap Melter

Hello everyone! So i'm looking at vamping up my production from my 6lb soap melter to a 35lb+ soap melter. I have found these Water Jacketed soap melters for sale on candles and supplies but I really don't understand how they work lol. I see an input for I guess a hose? Does a hose have to be...

    Best way to cool down?

So I make large batches of mechanics soap using MP soap and pumice. I noticed that it takes FOREVER for the soap to be cool/thick enough to pour without the pumice sinking to the bottom. Does anyone know of a way to cool the MP base faster than just letting it sit in a pot to cool? Thanks!

    Iron Oxide

Hey everyone, I have my own soap company that does pretty well, and we are starting to shift out target audience into the hunting world (as I’m an avid hunter). I wanted to create a “Hunters Soap” that would mask the scent of Hunters while out in the woods. I contacted a company who makes a...

    I Love Juicy Dupe

Hey everyone! So I was told by a customer that they would like a soap bar that smelled like Lushs "I Love Juicy" shampoo. I've looked everywhere with little to no luck on a dupe recipe for this scent. The ingredients can be found in the link below. The main scent ingredients I can see is...

    Debate

So i'm sure this will cause quite the debate but it's something I have been pondering the last few months after reading some reply to threads on here regarding melt and pour soap additives. So, a while back I made a post asking about additives and how much to add (I think it was rose hip oil)...

    Vegetable Glycerin

Hey everyone! Was reading a thread someone online earlier today where someone said adding some Vegetable Glycerin to melt and pour will increase the lather greatly, or even adding some kind of shower gel base. Has anyone tried this? Thanks!

    Botanical blend

Hey everyone, I'm currently in the process of making a new botanical blend of oils that are good against eczema and I have a few questions. Previously, I used 2 tablespoons of Rose Hip Oil per 6lbs of base and it has gotten rid of my eczema, so I know that adding such oils to M&P does work...

    Which base

Hey everyone, back with one last question before I make my final purchase on a large order of base. I'm looking for something "natural" but also has the best lather possible. I usually add about 1.5-2 tablespoons of oil/butter per 2lbs of soap so I would think a base with minimal additives...

    How much is effective?

Hey everyone, I've been making M&P soap now for close to 2 years and just decided to switch from WSP suspension base to WSP baby buttermilk, mostly for the oat extract and that its detergent free. My only concern is the lather. Right out of the package it had a nice creamy lather, but once I...

    WSP oatmeal

Hey everyone, I have been using the WSP suspension soap base for a while now for all of my soap bars, but iv'e been thinking about switching over to the oatmeal base for the benefits the oatmeal provides on the skin. Have any of you had any experience with the Oatmeal WSP base compared to thhe...

    Lather

Hey everyone! Have a quick question about increasing lather in Melt and Pour. I currently use the soap from Michael Art Store and just add some castor oil to make it lather better (using coupons save me alot of money buying base there), but it's still not the amount I'm looking for! Have any...

    apricot seeds

Hey everyone! I have a quick question about exfoliants. I'm using apricot seeds as natural exfoliants in my honey glycerin soap. My problem is that they all sink to the bottom every time! I've even tried waiting until it cools a little then pouring into the molds but it still sinks. Is there...

    Wood in Soap

Hello everyone! My name is Chris and this is my first post on here! I have been making and selling melt and pour soap for a little over a month now and I think I have it down pretty good (for the most part lol). I do have a question though. My company sells fire wood and fire starting gear...
