    Making soap indoors

That’s the next step. I’m in South Florida though and can’t find anything for less than $1,500/mo for a small warehouse space. And that’s in a bad area. Not enough room at the new place for a shed. May have to bite the bullet and get a warehouse.

    Making soap indoors

Just ordered some! Going to try that along with blocking under the door and placing a box fan in the window. Let’s see how this works!

    Making soap indoors

Thats what I was afraid of. It’s my full time business so it might be time to look for a warehouse to grow. Sorry to hear about the asthma and having to get rid of the soap making stuff... We don’t realize how harmful it can be to people with asthma until you see or experience it first hand...

    Making soap indoors

Hey everyone, So my significant other has bad asthma and the fragrance oils really flair it up. We have a second bedroom in our new place that I dedicated to soap making, hoping the scent would stay contained but it still lingered through the apartment. The room has 1 central AC vent, a...

    Water Jacketed Soap Melter

Hello everyone! So i'm looking at vamping up my production from my 6lb soap melter to a 35lb+ soap melter. I have found these Water Jacketed soap melters for sale on candles and supplies but I really don't understand how they work lol. I see an input for I guess a hose? Does a hose have to be...

    Best way to cool down?

So I make large batches of mechanics soap using MP soap and pumice. I noticed that it takes FOREVER for the soap to be cool/thick enough to pour without the pumice sinking to the bottom. Does anyone know of a way to cool the MP base faster than just letting it sit in a pot to cool? Thanks!

    Iron Oxide

Hmm I can see that possibly working. Maybe I’ll stick to black iron oxide and no scent and give that a shot. Thanks.

    Iron Oxide

Hey everyone, I have my own soap company that does pretty well, and we are starting to shift out target audience into the hunting world (as I’m an avid hunter). I wanted to create a “Hunters Soap” that would mask the scent of Hunters while out in the woods. I contacted a company who makes a...

    I Love Juicy Dupe

Hey everyone! So I was told by a customer that they would like a soap bar that smelled like Lushs "I Love Juicy" shampoo. I've looked everywhere with little to no luck on a dupe recipe for this scent. The ingredients can be found in the link below. The main scent ingredients I can see is...

When do I unmold my soap?

My apologies for that! And okay thank you so much. I think i'll go with a wooden mold haha. Thanks for the help!

When do I unmold my soap?

Bringing back an old thread here but quick question as this is my first CP run. I use these 5oz soap containers to pour my M&P into and then just leave them in and sell as is: https://www.thesage.com/catalog/products/5-oz-Rectangle-Clamshells.html Can I leave my CP in these molds to cure since...

    Debate

Thanks for the quick response! I was leaning more towards how the additives nourish the skin. I've just seen so many people saying how additives nourish the skin in CP but as soon as I talk about additives nourishing skin in M&P, it's like the world flips upside down haha. From the knowledge...

    Debate

So i'm sure this will cause quite the debate but it's something I have been pondering the last few months after reading some reply to threads on here regarding melt and pour soap additives. So, a while back I made a post asking about additives and how much to add (I think it was rose hip oil)...

Is doing M&P Cheating? Like a Box Cake Mix?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I wasn't trying to make a claim on here, maybe I didn't type it out as I was thinking. Whenever I sell my soaps, I list the the oils and what not used in that bar of soap "have been known to help with such and such, but isn't proven", which isn't making...

Is doing M&P Cheating? Like a Box Cake Mix?

I didn't mean it as it WILL work to fight eczema or anything, I'm just saying it has been known to work for my customers. Should've been more clear on that one haha. I'm not trying to sell anyone anything, I was just simply adding what I've found out over the years of my own personal experience...

Is doing M&P Cheating? Like a Box Cake Mix?

M&P "soapers" lmao darn spell check! I hope no one is selling MP diapers

    Vegetable Glycerin

I use a natural coconut oil base which does have great lather, but always looking to improve :) I'm not too worried about making the soap soft. I always see people saying adding over a certain amount of oils will make a bar soft and cut lather but I have yet to have that happen to mine. Not...

Is doing M&P Cheating? Like a Box Cake Mix?

I feel like it all depends on how you make your melt and pour soaps. Anyone can just melt some, add color, then pour into a mold. The soaps that I make and sell actually contain the same amount, if not more different kinds of beneficial oils and butter than CP. I hear a lot of talk of how it's...

    Vegetable Glycerin

Hey everyone! Was reading a thread someone online earlier today where someone said adding some Vegetable Glycerin to melt and pour will increase the lather greatly, or even adding some kind of shower gel base. Has anyone tried this? Thanks!

    Botanical blend

I considered it! I may dabble with it in the future. I'm not too sure though why people say additional additives to M&P are a waste because they just wash off. I've done some tests over the past few years of M&P without and additives, and then added some Rose Hip Oil and Manuka Honey to the base...
