    Making soap with kids

Excellent idea. I so appreciate everyone's suggestions. Even though this will be my first time a) teaching soap and b) working with kids, I think it will go well.

    Making soap with kids

That's really cool. Looks like all she does is make a basic CP batch, then not let it cure until she's molded it into whatever she wants. I'm going to try that myself!

    Making soap with kids

I just ordered some MP for the event. Maybe I'll do a demo of the CP, then we'll do the MP together. Even though it says over 15, I think that with proper supervision, it'll be okay. I got little fishes they can put in. should be fun.

You could look into candy molds, too. I've used them with CP soap with decent results, though they make smaller bars. One caveat about using the ice cube trays. I find that either I have to leave my soap in them forever, or I have to freeze them, then let them thaw before I can pop them out...

    Making soap with kids

The place where I make my soap (CP) is holding summer camp, and I've agreed to make soap with the kids (12-15) in a couple of weeks. lining wooden molds - part 1

I've been using freezer paper, but it's such a chore to cut every time, and if I don't get the corners covered, I get leakage and ugly soap. So last batch, I used a cheap, very flexible cutting board to make permanent liners for the ends. I get them at Ocean State Job Lot (cheap odd lot store in...

    Oven cleaner?

We had a party last weekend, and now I need to clean the ovens. The ovens themselves are easy - they're self-cleaning. The racks, on the other hand, are a huge pain in the (pick anatomy part). I've done them before with steel wool and dish soap, which takes hours, so I was going to use EasyOff...

Welcome to the SMF Family!! Please read this first :)

Just starting liquid soaps Hi, I'm Lisa, from Connecticut in the US Northeast. I've been making CP soaps for a year or so now, and today I tried my first liquid soap recipe. It wasn't as hard or as time consuming as I thought it would be, but my stick blender got tired long before it was ready...
