    Shampoo bar residue

So recently I did a coconut oil treatment to my hair and then after I washed it with my shampoo bar twice. My hair turned out great with no residue and it felt soft. I did wash my hair differently that time. I rubbed the bar in my hands then I rubbed my hands together to creat suds and washed my...

    Shampoo bar residue

Hi everyone! I started using a shampoo bar and noticed that it was leaving a sticky oily residue in my hair. I've read that there is a "transition" period were your hair tends to be nasty for awhile until it gets use to the new shampoo and I guess strips the product of the commercial brand...

Help! I think something went wrong

Thanks everyone for your advice. I think the shampoo bar was fine just one didn't gel and one did. I still rebatched it just to be safe and it came out just fine.

Help! I think something went wrong

I think the superfat just depends on people's hair type and what they like but what I've read is people prefer it low like 3% or 2%... oh okay I will test again. If it is lye heavy, what are my choices? :)

Help! I think something went wrong

So I think I might have used too much water. Even though the recipe I used said 15oz of water, I put it through two soap calculators and both came out with 13oz of water. But I'm still unsure since I'm so new to soap making. One of the soap cal I used was brambleberry I don't know if that was a...

Help! I think something went wrong

It isn't that hard like the other one, the smaller one is a bit harder. Both of them cut the same with no problem like cutting butter.

Help! I think something went wrong

Thank you! I was so worried I might have wasted all that soap. But I have another question; Soap doesn't always have to turn back into a solid color? I just assumed it had too based off of things I read that seemed to always say after gel phase it goes back to a solid color.

Help! I think something went wrong

Hello everyone, I am very new to soap making and two days ago I made my very first shampoo bar. After it had sat for 48hrs it had the appearance of vaseline. The soap was solid but had a transparent, glossy look. Now i split this batch up, most of the batch was poured into a bigger mold and...
