    Natural products, wild claims?

Curious how/if this should be dealt with at all. A friend of mine has been buying all natural products from a vendor and some of their products just sort of scream false advertising or worse yet, unsafe. Their natural sunscreen is just a mixture of oils and nothing else, no TD, no ZO, just...

Dragons blood fo faded to nothing

Like others are saying i have never had dragon blood fade, even once when i used near the ratio as you. You might find its scent comes back after a few uses, i notice that with a lot of my soaps

    Rant about suppiers

After trying it once and having a bad result once, i really wouldn't go blaming the supplier...

    Selling Soap

I agree with the notion of insurance before selling to anyone, but to get insurance before giving soap to family and friends when you have no business is just too paranoid for me. It would be like a grandmother getting insurance before baking Christmas cookies or making dinner guests sign a...

    Whipped Body Butter, Staying Whipped

Tapioca powder is one option people use to minimize the 'grease' factor for lotions and body butters

    "Goat milk" OR "goat's milk"

I guess it could be either way really. Goat's milk implies the milk used for the soap belongs to the goat, goats implies the milk came from several goats. Both are probably true of mass produced goat milk

Love making soaps but hate cleaning up

I let most of my tools sit overnight so they are pretty much just soap the next day, as oppose to a caustic batter. Then i just fill my sink with screaming hot water, let them soak until it cools down and then i basically just have to rinse them off

    Jagermeister soap?

I don't have anise fragrance oil, but as i'm thinking this will be a christmas soap i can surely get some by then. The person i'm making this for has also expressed great love for my bastille dragons blood soap; however, he said "i didnt like it when you first gave it to me(six month cure)...

    Jagermeister soap?

I have a friend who really likes jagermeister, he also really likes my soap. What are your thoughts on adding jagermeister to soap? I've read about people adding spirits before, but not this one in particular. Iirc it has a very high sugar content , and obviously a good deal of alcohol so...

    Bath Bombs?

I can't speak for craft shows specifically;however i find most everyone likes bath bombs. Some people seem sketchy about cold process soap because it "uses lye(GASP)" , but i have yet to meet someone who has been leery of a bath bomb. Just don't charge 7 dollars per 6oz bath bomb (like lush...

Experimenting with sugar scrub cubes. . .

As far as i'm aware this sounds fairly similar to how a lot of people make sugar scrubs. Soap queen has a tutorial that is just basically M&P, Extra oil and sugar. It sounds like you basically did the same thing but you made your own soap instead of using M&P(good judgement chilling it, lol)...

    Layered CP & MP

It helps M&P adhere to other layers so you dont end up with two separate bars of soap in different colours :p

    Lemongrass essential oil.

It can tint it a light yellow, but if that's not what you're going for it's really easy to cover up with pretty much any colourant

Should i be nervous about making lotion?

Thanks for all the great info and links as usual, i'll diffidently get that e book, 99 cents is pretty hard to beat. I'm sure the answer is in the book, but i figure i may as well ask here too. What do you think about using some calendula infused sweet almond oil as one of my oils, and a...

Should i be nervous about making lotion?

Been making soap for the better part of two years now and have loved every second of it. I have made bath bombs and bath salts in the past, and want to try yet another product, lotion. The part that worries me is this will be my first product that uses water, and thus will need protection...

    Bulk citric acid

We have a bulk whole foods store in town(my town isnt that large) that sells it at what i remember being a fair price. If maybe check around your town for something similar? I cant remember the exact price, but it WAS cheaper than online with shipping

    When to cut soap?

Unless its salt soap or melt and pour i wouldn't want to try cutting for at least 12-24 hours

    Hardness of soap bars

My go to is a little bit lower than yours and i dont have any real problems. If its a pretty swirl recpie and i dont want any drag marks i will wait 3 days if gelled, 5 or so if gelled. If its just a basic solid colour i cut 24 hours after pouring
