Maybe you could try a fine mesh or netting to cover it. That way people could still smell it.

Those look great! How did you get them out of the molds? Also, what did you use to cut them?

Grits sounds like it would make a great additive! I use steel cut oats in my soaps and have not had a problem. There are some other posts on this forum regarding the use of food in soap. Generally, the lye creates a hostile environment for bacteria making it very difficult for things to spoil.

Soapmaker Man: I love your molds, just need to save up a bit to get one. I guess I'll keep using my glass baking pans for now. They do an okay job, but I like the uniformity with your TOG molds. :) Thanks for the tips Bigmoose. I may have to try that out as well.

Well I was interested in a loaf style mold, but am open to other otions. It doesn't necessarily have to be really big or anything. I only make soap for personal use and gifts. 52 oz. sounds like a good size. Where do I start?

Pardon my ignorance here, but what benefits does one get from using clay in soap?
