    soap mold liner?

I'm planning on making a wooden soap mold today and I'm curious about liners. What do you guys use to line your molds? Is there something permanent I can coat the inside of the mold with that won't stick to the soap? I was thinking along the lines of a spray on silicone or polyeurethane. Has...

    stuck soap

I just realized that I think what I've done in the past is line the casserole dishes with saran wrap or something! And I didn't line them with anything this time. Can I get it out of there without making a huge mess?

    CP recipe?

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions. I haven't actually made any soap in about 2 years(we're just now running out) so I don't remember the exact recipe. I have it written down somewhere. I'll have to play with it a little. Is there such a thing as a soap calc where you can enter the...

    CP recipe?

Hi everyone. I'm looking for a fairly simple recipe that has a really good lather. I usually use a recipe that contains mostly coconut oil, lard, and olive oil. Recently, my girlfriend complained that there wasn't enough lather. So, before she goes back to commercial cleansers from the store...

Sides showing - is this ok??

Maybe you could try a fine mesh or netting to cover it. That way people could still smell it.

Two more quick questions: :D Did you grease the insides of the pipes? and how did you cap the ends?

I am a little sad - PICTURES ADDED!

Those look great! How did you get them out of the molds? Also, what did you use to cut them?

    ok for scrubbies?

Grits sounds like it would make a great additive! I use steel cut oats in my soaps and have not had a problem. There are some other posts on this forum regarding the use of food in soap. Generally, the lye creates a hostile environment for bacteria making it very difficult for things to spoil.

    Plans for a wooden mold?

Soapmaker Man: I love your molds, just need to save up a bit to get one. I guess I'll keep using my glass baking pans for now. They do an okay job, but I like the uniformity with your TOG molds. :) Thanks for the tips Bigmoose. I may have to try that out as well.

    Plans for a wooden mold?

Well I was interested in a loaf style mold, but am open to other otions. It doesn't necessarily have to be really big or anything. I only make soap for personal use and gifts. 52 oz. sounds like a good size. Where do I start?

    Plans for a wooden mold?

I'm interested in building my own wooden soap mold, but I'm not sure where to start. Does anyone have any plans they wouldn't mind sharing? Or does anyone know a place that sells plans for molds?
