    Fun with lye

Quick share (the mention of a certain TV program made me want to post, don't blame me!): After making about a dozen batches of soapy goodness, several months ago, I actually had police come to my door on a call from my neighbor that I was making meth lol. I hadn't even considered how I must...

    Shower gel/bubble bath base???

I've tried bases from both BG and BB. Personally, I found the one from BB to be extremely drying, and the one from NG was really oily. My kids, though, had no complaints about either, so like most things, it's really a matter of preference. The base from NG is very thin, while the one from BB...

    Anyone else make jewelry?

Thank you so much for taking the time to show me! I do pretty much the same as that, only I don't continue the wraparound. I appreciate your help, so much!! Let me repay you in soap...::wigglybrow giggles:: :)

    Anyone else make jewelry?

Here's that closeup; what a crazy few days around here! I do press the end in to as flush with the loop as I can, but it's the overall loop and wrap that gives me perfectionist fits. :)

    Anyone else make jewelry?

I'll get a closer pic, today. I found a tut that makes it a lot simpler to get a nice loop, but it's still giving me fits with the twist. DH says I'm looking too critically at it, but I'm a perfectionist, so that isn't going to change anytime soon lol. It just doesn't look 'clean' enough, to...

    Anyone else make jewelry?

Thank you. :) I love that feeling of making something that pleases others, even if at times it makes me want to pull out my hair lol. I looked into a wire class, years ago, and just couldn't shape things properly. I admire anyone with that ability - I'd likely go crazy, from frustration...

    Anyone else make jewelry?

I've made glass bead jewelry for years, and love how relaxing it is. I took a break from it, while I was learning cp and taking my aromatherapy certification, but am back in the swing of things. I've always done bracelets, but decided to give earrings a go, and while they're both simple and...

    Pumpkin... But not for Hallows.

I've found a really good FO from NG, that while really sweet oob smells amazing in my products - it's one of my best year-round sellers, currently. Pumpkin Cheesecake. It sounded like it would go 'candy' or otherwise morph grossly, when I first read the description, but I'm glad I tried it out...

what are these little white things?

It looks like bubbles to me, but I'm far from an expert. Did you use any TD? That can speckle soap, from time to time. I hope someone else has an answer with certainty for you, soon!

    FO Search

Seawolfe, that looks like a lovely, fresh soap - wish I could smell it! :) Thank you for the suggestions, everyone. I'm going to get a small sample from both places, and see which one tests better for me!

    FO Search

Did it give any issues with A/R/D? I've had a bad run of acceleration with BB fragrances, lately..so frustrating, especially knowing their overall product quality.

    CO substitution help, please! :)

That's not bad, at all. Is there a supplier you guys prefer to use?

    FO Search

I'm at it, again! :) If anyone could point me to a nice Cucumber Melon FO, that doesn't make cp smell like candy, I'd really appreciate it. So far, I've had very little luck, and most people requesting custom fragrances from me lately want that one, of course!

    CO substitution help, please! :)

You beat me to posting, Obsidian lol. Thank you, for helping out! :)

    CO substitution help, please! :)

Edit: I've read many sites that suggest Palm kernel Flakes and Babassu. Both look to be too expensive for basic use bars, but am willing to try PKF, if I don't have other viable options.

    CO substitution help, please! :)

I've been asked to make some cp bars for a family friend, without coconut oil, and not pure OO. She's allergic to coconut, and if you even say the word near her, I I swear she gets hives. I'd love to help her out, but all the oils I've tried in my recipes so far would make for either an...

    CP with MP layers q

Thank you. :) I still need to clean up the tops quite a bit, stamp and 'wash' them when they're dry a few days. I really hope the layers play nice and stay together! The ribbon mold: Cybrtrayd m210 candy mold on amazon. $5 free ship w/prime acct. 12 cavities, .3 oz cavity capacity, petg...

    CP with MP layers q

I was asked to do some gift bag soaps for a BCA golf tournament and auction early next year, and got a really cute idea in my noggin yesterday. I made my standard cp recipe, and two thin layer pieces of mp, with the plan to do a full-mold layer soap, and add some pink ribbon accents on top. I...

    Not sure what happened..

The bars look far less oily, today, so I'm hopeful again. They smell wonderful, which is saying something, as I usually don't care for rose fragrances. :) I'm going to wait to zap test them, until Friday, to make sure all the moisture really is gone. Quite the first experience with this...

    Not sure what happened..

It's firm, like my batches usually tend to be, it's just really oily on the surface. No pockets, though there are a few really thin veins throughout... it makes a pretty marbling effect, anyway lol. :) How long should I wait before considering a rebatch? I've been thinking a week, is that...
