    100% Palm Oil Soap???

I came across a bar recently that's made with only palm oil as the fat. I've done pure CO with 20% SF. Would the palm oil recipe be similar? The bar is ridiculously amazing and I'm inclined to try it. Anyone try this before? I haven't read anything about it yet...

    Salt Bars: Rebatch Success!

Woo Hoo!!! So excited! I know there are a lot of salt bar rebatching failures (I've had several), so I wanted to share a success story! (It took me three tries, and a tip from Obsidian to grate - thank you! BTW). See below for tips on what helped me, and a photo. :)

    Trouble with new silicone molds

I'm so bummed! I normally use wood molds lined with parchment paper but recently bought silicone molds. Every batch I've made in them I've had trouble with. I think they're overheating or something. I don't know. When I unmold them, everything's fine; but when I go to cut them, the bottom part...

    4 hrs @ Vaseline stage

So I know my liquid soap paste should have gone through all these stages and it's kinda just been stuck in the thick Vaseline stage... Is this normal? I'm on the 4th hour at high in my crock pot, stirring every 15 mins. I can't really use my stick blender anymore so now I'm hand stirring. Here's...

    Okara (soybean) in soap

So I make my own soy milk and always have a bunch of Okara in the house. I bake with it and always have some left over so I want to start using it in soap. I haven't found much info about it online, so it sounds like quite the experiment. It's easy to see the difference in stages of the Okara...

    Vanilla Powder

Has anyone used vanilla powder in their CP soap? I wanted to use it with maybe some pumpkin purée or coconut flakes. I'm thinking of a creamy and gentle exfoliating soap. I was hoping the vanilla powder would make it more creamy. How does it respond to the curing process? Thanks!

Soap is ROCK HARD @ 48 hours

Okay, normally rock hard soap is a good thing... But it was so hard at 24 hours old that I could barely cut it with a heavy duty knife! Some of it chunked off because it got stuck on the edge of the knife. So... It was my first batch of Castile soap (just Olive Oil). I did add a little Lavender...

    Seaweed smells strong!

So I made a 48oz CP log of seaweed oat soap and it looks nice but smells SO STRONG to me! I used 3 Tablespoons of ground up, food grade seaweed that I rehydrated in part of my oils before adding it at trace. Has anyone ever worked with this before? Please tell me this smell fades! I already have...
