Agh! I'm assuming you've made regular cupcake soaps before without that issue... Do you think that's a consequence of the salt, or the hardness of the soap itself? I usually only use 1 pound of salt per 2 pounds of oil, so they aren't particularly salty

Has anyone ever tried this? I wanna try making soap cupcakes, but I've been so in love with salt soap, I wanna stick to my recipe. Is this possible? I know it's best to use more hard oils... would all the coconut oil suffice?

I think most liquids just aren't worth the trouble in soap, and soda definitely falls under that umbrella. It wouldn't offer any scent, the huge amount of sugar would be a pain, and it probably has citric acid or something of that sort, right? Wouldn't that increase your superfat? I agree...

Honestly, the biggest reason I gel my soaps is because I usually can't avoid it, especially in the summer. I hate the look of partially gelled soap, so I'd rather just completely gel it and avoid that issue altogether. I prefer the translucent/shiny look, as well.

Can't the acid mantle be washed off by non-alkaline cleansers, too? If it's basically just a layer of lipids + some other things, wouldn't you think any surfactant, CP soap or otherwise, would be able to remove it?

Coconut, olive, and palm are the holy trinity in my opinion. Castor and shea are also good to have on hand.

Vanilla and orange (heavy on the orange) is really nice, smells like a creamsicle! Vanilla and lavender is good, too.
