Help/Troubleshooting my second batch: Rock hard solid in Crockpot after 25 minutes!

The screenshot of your SoapCalc recipe is all wrong, it says you're using 6 ounces of olive oil, 4 ounces of grapeseed, 6 ounces of castor, and just .5 ounces of coconut oil. I think something was misread or miscommunicated somewhere but I'm not sure what... I ran it through SoapCalc and the...

What's your favorite mold for salt bars?

I'm on the hunt for a new mold for my salt soap. I've been using this (they were way cheaper when I bought them!) and I want something a little bigger, but shallower. I bought this one to try and the silicone is too thin, so they warp a lot. Any advice? I'm trying not to spend too much money...

    Salt Soap Cupcakes

Was the top whipped, or just blended to a thick trace?

    Salt Soap Cupcakes

Agh! I'm assuming you've made regular cupcake soaps before without that issue... Do you think that's a consequence of the salt, or the hardness of the soap itself? I usually only use 1 pound of salt per 2 pounds of oil, so they aren't particularly salty

    Salt Soap Cupcakes

Has anyone ever tried this? I wanna try making soap cupcakes, but I've been so in love with salt soap, I wanna stick to my recipe. Is this possible? I know it's best to use more hard oils... would all the coconut oil suffice?

Can you use fizzy pop in cp soap?

I think most liquids just aren't worth the trouble in soap, and soda definitely falls under that umbrella. It wouldn't offer any scent, the huge amount of sugar would be a pain, and it probably has citric acid or something of that sort, right? Wouldn't that increase your superfat? I agree...

Looking for a realistic sandalwood fragrance!

First of all, shoutout to jblaney for being kind enough to send me 4 sandalwood samples plus a couple bonuses! I'll remember to pay it forward! Here are my OOB thoughts if anyone else is looking, too (I'll try making a bar of each soon but it pains me to empty these bottles!): Oregon Trails'...

    Another question about gelling/not gelling

Honestly, the biggest reason I gel my soaps is because I usually can't avoid it, especially in the summer. I hate the look of partially gelled soap, so I'd rather just completely gel it and avoid that issue altogether. I prefer the translucent/shiny look, as well.

    Citrus FO binding problems?

Unfortunately, I think the most surefire way to avoid citrus fading is to HP it and use a ton (okay, maybe not a ton) of oil. But using more tenacious lemony scents like litsea and lemongrass alongside your real lemon is a good idea. Concentrated citrus scents are amazing too, I've had great...

    It worked! Well, kinda...

That looks amazing!! Piping a design inside the loaf must be terrifying, it's hard enough trying to pipe things on top...

    PH reduction

Can't the acid mantle be washed off by non-alkaline cleansers, too? If it's basically just a layer of lipids + some other things, wouldn't you think any surfactant, CP soap or otherwise, would be able to remove it?

    Must-have micas

I've ordered a few mica samples in the past, but I'm curious what everyone thinks is completely necessary to have if you want colorful soap. I really wanna place an order of Nurture Soap micas sometime in the future but I can't really decide what to get... thoughts? If I could only get 8 or...

    Oils to have on hand

Coconut, olive, and palm are the holy trinity in my opinion. Castor and shea are also good to have on hand.

    Vanilla blends?

Vanilla and orange (heavy on the orange) is really nice, smells like a creamsicle! Vanilla and lavender is good, too.

Looking for a realistic sandalwood fragrance!

Thank you both! OT's Mysore Sandalwood looks like a winner, I'll definitely be trying that. I wish it was cheaper to order just one bottle from a company, I'd buy every sandalwood on the market!

Looking for a realistic sandalwood fragrance!

Fellow sandalwood lovers, do you know of any sandalwood fragrances that actually smell like real sandalwood oil? I've been rationing my tiny bottle of real sandalwood essential oil for a couple of years, and I'd love to have something I can wear as perfume or even put in soap without selling a...

Need swirl ideas for cavity molds

I almost exclusively make salt soap for its simplicity and just because I like the way it feels, but I hate cutting it, so I got some cavity molds. My problem is, I can't think of many ways to make it look interesting - in-the-pot swirls are getting boring! Any advice on switching it up? I...
