    The Biggest Compliment Ever!!

Congratulation, that is one great compliment!!!!! Corrie, I cannot get my man to use my soap either. He uses a drying over the counter blue/green soap (tee hee, I won't mention the brand) and complains of itchy skin. Yet, he does promote my soap to everyone else.

    Hello from Hershey

Hello! When I was a teenager, we lived in Baltimore, and I made several trips to Hershey. That is such a pretty area! Later in life, the company I worked for sent me to Harrisburg a couple times. Pretty close to you! Anyhow...thought I would join in and say hello too (from a newbie...

I got my Christmas early xmas puppies pics-new picture

We raised a couple of litters of boxers. I remember those puppy cries, sound almost alien. You are going to be busy! And you will have puppies to love!

    Phenonip

I forgot to say, thank you Ian!

    Phenonip

I got my answer! I went directly to the manufacturer, http://www.clariant.com . When the product contains enough water, water that is heated prior to emulsion, the Phenonip should be added to the water prior to emulsion to ensure the preservative is properly disbursed into the entire...

    Phenonip

I need some clarification regarding when to add Phenonip when making lotion. The various processes that I have been told are: -Add the Phenonip prior to emulsion (to the oils) to ensure proper disbursement in the recipe. Do not allow the oil temperature to exceed 140 degrees. -Add...

Random act of Christmas Good will

Yeah, I know. After I posted I invisioned a scene: Lady puts soap bag on doorhandle. Elderly neighbor watches, stews on the idea, begins to worry, grows frantic, and calls cops.

Random act of Christmas Good will

Oh, I truly like people that can go against the grain, walk to their own drummer, and tell it like they feel it with kindness mixed in! Treat me in July as you do today...what a smart thought! Can you make a little gift bag that ties to a door handle (with soaps inside)?

Your Thoughts on my Commercial Soap Biz

Do you have the desire to be creative? Are you really interested in crafting soap? I think a business venture needs to start with really liking what you are considering stepping into. The biggest challenge I have is marketing. How would you market? And the market is flooded. What will make...

    Samples

I agree, it is encouraging. I have already passed out a number of samples and business cards, just after thinking about this thread. I handed one out a few hours ago when I mailed soap packages at the post office. You never know who might be interested!

Just poured my first batch of milk soap!

The color could be from the milk going above 150 degrees after the lye was added. It will not hurt the soap. I normally let my milk soap gel, but I do not cover it. We all do what works for us. It is a trial and error sort of thing. I cannot wait to hear how your soap turns out...

    Would you feel isolated?

I totally agree with you! Let your site reflect who you are, what you want your soaps or products to portray. BTW...I like the new site too.

    Samples

 A fresh idea... I wear a certain "perfume" that I created years ago. I do not share the recipe, it is a simple one, but it draws attention from time to time. When someone comments about my scent, for example, they ask, "What are you wearing?" I'll say something silly like, "Is it too...

Guess what I have piled in front of me? :D Snack sized zip lock baggies, each with a piece of lavender goat milk soap inside, ready for a business card. My hubby will carry some in his truck, and I will carry some in mine. Thank you for the idea!

size DOES matter...at least when it comes to packaging!

I use soap boxes that are pre-made, kraft type. I stamp my logo on the back of the box. There is a window on the front that shows the soap. Many do not like this sort of box, but I like it because I feel it depicts the rustic hand crafted jest of my soap. Just my own likes. I used to band...

    Shopping Mall Disappointment

Linda, and the more I ponder, the more I "talk" to myself, and stick to my convictions. If you are selling soap for a reason, then shout the "whys" from the roof tops. We sell soap for many reasons, but many of us do so because of its special qualities.

So discourage......color Goat Milk soap?...PIC ADDED

When working with goat milk in soap, temperature is key. You must keep the temp down during the mixing of lye or the milk will carmalize and leave a tan/brown coloring to the soap.

What a great idea with the samples. A zip lock back with the card included inside! I need a bigger purse... :P

Starduster already said what I was thinking, as dissapointing as this "find" was, I bet you are going to move on to something even better.
