Yea! It gelled. My mold is a thick wooden type so it may have over-heated with the goat milk. ....and now that I think of it the last time I used GM I didn't use that type of mold. You're so smart! Thank you!!

I hadn't made Goat Milk soap in a long time but I don't remember it being so oily after cutting. I just checked it again (about an hour later) and it seems like the oil is either "drying off" or seeping in...not sure which. I also added some ground oatmeal at trace. Does this mean my soap...

I just got in "Gingerbread Latte" and "Pumpkin Cornbread" from Backwoods. The Gingerbread Latte smells so good I could drink it. The Pumpkin Cornbread smells a little apple-y to me. I've never used Backwoods or these scents.

For hot process I use coconut milk from the can 13.5 oz (400ml) size and I put it in the bowl first then add enough water to equal whatever I need for 4 pounds of soap. It plus the scent (I use a vanilla type) turn the soap a very dark brown...BUT....I have had it turn very green and stinky...

I happen to have a 1/2 oz of Sasafrass by FNWL. It has a rootbeer smell, not bad. I haven't smelled true sasafrass in many years and this FO smells a little on the sweet side to me...although I am smelling it full strength.

Registering the DBA with the County is not the same as trademarking a name. I now own the name in the state of Texas at least for the next ten years which is when the trademark expires. Thanks for the advice, I do appreciate it.

The other company is in Texas, too. I know to protect the name on a national level I'd have to register through the Feds. I just can't afford that right now. I've been selling soap under the company name for nearly two years now but I didn't even think about registering the name because...

The same name can't be used to sell similar products. That much I know (though not much else). In my case, this company is using my exact business name and selling the same type of products. I have their address now, I'll send them a polite letter.
